More great news tonight!
The Tobacco & Vapes Bill is now ready to go for Royal Assent, with the Lords agreeing to the techncial amendments made recently in the Commons.
The bill marks a major shift in public health, banning the sale of tobacco products to anyone born on or after 1st Jan 2009.

So that's 5 bills awaiting Royal asscent now (unless i've missed something with the Victims and Courts bill), 4 to go before porogation sometime next week (propably Wednesday 29th April as that's where the business is up to)
Great news!
The hugely important Victims & Courts Bill has been considered in the Commons again tonight and has passed without vote.
Just once of Lords amendments were overturned & replaced with a new version in lieu.
This means it hopefully now just needs to go to the Lords for agreement...

I've heard rumours that O Come All ye Faithful will be sung across the land if the opposition manage to get Starmer to resign this week.... #StarmerOut
That leaves 3 bills which will likely fail this session and may be brought back in the next:
1. Public Office (Accountability) Bill (Hillsborough Law)
2. Northern Ireland Troubles
3. Diego Garcia Military Base and British Indian Ocean Territory Bill
What are your thoughts?
We have 6 bills carrying over:
1. Armed Forces Bill
2. Courts and Tribunals Bill
3. Cyber Security and Resilience (Network & Information Systems) Bill
4. Railways Bill
5. Representation of the People Bill
6. High Speed Rail (Crewe - Manchester) Bill (hybrid bill, being re-used for a new rail line)
Just been putting together my list again of what I think could be in the King's Speech in a few weeks time.
Obviously, not one bit of this is proven until the King says it.
But here is my first guess at what could be coming, along with other bills carrying over.
1. Ticket sales & ticket tout bill
Hopefully it will be in the thousands by the end of 2026, long enough for them to come off the top of the polls.
Not when he's had his worst polling weeks for years he won't www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/ref...
Here we go again Twitter has just gone down...
And the select committe has finished on the Armed Forces Bill meaning it will be recommitted to a committe of the whole house, also to be dealt with after The King's speech so just the Courts and Courts and Tribunals Bill waiting to finish it's committe stage and that will be that.
Representation of the People bill completed Committe stage yesterday which means it's remaining stages will be picked up again after the King's speech @warrenoates1.bsky.social bills.parliament.uk/bills/4080/s...
Hopefully the latter.
Grabs Popcorn as the pattern appears to be emergering that they are likely to lose if they are defending a seat in a by-election.
If i'm reading things correctly, yes but let's see what happens when the lords considers the bill again.
Although (re the Tobacco & Vapes bill) the amendments appear to be concequencal so once the Lords have considered the amendments, that should be that done. bills.parliament.uk/publications...
@warrenoates1.bsky.social Looks like the Chagos bill is on the brink of collapse and won't be in The Kings speech next month. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

🚨 | Hello! Bit of a weird one this, but I'm going to be away from 27th April for up to 24 nights without access to the internet (I can explain why in a few months time...).
Obviously, I'm aware this is the worst possible time of year for me to be absent.
2026 Crowd-Sourced Statement of Persons Nominated Master Sheet is now Live - most will be published by 5PM today.

What isn't being taken into account here (but is in the most recent polls) is that Reform UK's polling is at it's lowest for over a year meaning there is also time for them to do just as badly if people vote tactically to keep them out. bsky.app/profile/refo...

Extraordinary scenes at Wembley Park station where all southbound Metropolitan Line trains terminate this weekend. Apparently some passengers refused to get off, insisting the train finish its usual route, & had to be removed
Meanwhile a chorus of passengers who stayed on the train and insisted it takes it's usual route started singing We Shall not be moved when police approached to throw them off.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3cJ...
And everywhere else where they have control of a council, Kent, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire. They couldn't even run a brewery never mind a council and as for that childish walk out at PMQ's a couple of days ago, nobody wants to talk about the boats because we have other issues going on right now.
