Last week we attended NoWPaS (International Workshop of PhDs and Post-doctoral Fellows on Anadromous Salmonids), held at Hólar in Hjaltadal, Iceland.

At the conference banquet, everyone ate well and had fun, as the pictures show. The night ended with the annual NoWPaS Quiz, a very serious (-ly fun) time.

🇮🇸 Day 4 of NoWPaS 2026: exploration and networking
The day started with a visit to Reykjafoss waterfall and the near-by natural hotspot!
🐟 Many discussions emerged and new collaborations started.
✨ We were lucky enough to observe beautiful Northern lights during the night.
Great to see NoWPaS in full swing at Hólar University, Iceland! An amazing event, bringing together ECRs from both sides of the Atlantic, and beyond, at a crucial time for salmonids. The FSBI has long supported NoWPaS and it's great to see Joris Philip (FSBI PhD) sharing the FSBI's other benefits!
