Trying out a new way to store my most aggressive, volatile ink (Organics Studio Limited Edition Nuclear Nitrogen).

Is it unnecessary and overengineered? Yes.

The "Nuclear Nitrogen" isn't dramatically different from the regular OS Nitrogen ink. The main difference I see is that the purple sheen appears more even when you're looking at it head-on.

FWIW, it writes really nice with a glass dip pen! The fact that it's sticky seems to help.

*padauk, not padouk.

Tonight I sanded the block to a smooth finish and applied the first of around 8 coats of tung oil cut with citrus solvent. Lots of woodworkers hate handing. They don't like oil b/c it's slow.

I love both, and the result is amazing every time.

Anyway, I'll post more pics when its done.

The wood is padouk (yes, I know it'll turn brown over time, that's ok). The little metal disks are magnets. I put magnets on the bottom of my ink bottles, too, and voila! The jars are held in place. They make a really satisfying "clack" when you set them in, too.

The 3rd spot works for a lid, too.

This is a little thing I'm making. It's simple, but I'm looking forward to using it.

I've been using glass fountain pens a lot lately. This means I need to have a little jar of ink handy. I also use a lap desk, so that can get precarious.

This little thing will hold my pen and a few jars of ink.

I read the novel last year, so far Junji Ito's adaptation has been excellent.

Ordered a sort of Halloween palette of fountain pen ink. Not entirely on purpose, but I'm delighted with the result.

One of my abs favorite inks. Intense and strangely difficult to pin down with regard to hue, and a bright, metallic gold sheen to top it off.

This color is part of Sailor's "Ink Studio" series, where each ink is given a number instead of a name. That said, I think of this one as "Disco Era Pink".
