And a very happy Caturday to you too, Andy!
Martha the cat, curled up asleep in the cat bed that she has been actively avoiding all her life.
When I got our kittens two years ago, I bought a cat bed.
As anyone who has done this will know, this guarantees that this will be the one place that your cat will never sleep.
ππBut today, the battle of wills has been won! ππ£
It's funny how they're more worried about a system which identifies vulnerabilities in their shoddy systems more than the vulnerabilities in their shoddy systems.
BBC News - Finance ministers and top bankers raise serious concerns about Mythos AI model

Another issue is encouraging distributed computing or platform independent compute to tackle data centres being a primary target in any conflict. This is not trivial, but possible as there were a number of technologies which did this in the 1990s-early 2000s but have largely been discontinued.
We keep hearing about how Europe is not ready for war, and various ideas are being put forward, but one thing not being tackled is the effect on civilian businesses which play a key part in any conflict.
Home micro generation, information security and local supply of technology need to be tackled.
Show me a CISO worrying about AI and I'll show you a CISO whose governance and compliance is a mess and who should probably be focusing on that instead.
A graph showing that 84% of UK generation is from renewable sources and 99% is generated from carbon neutral sources.
Oh no! It's getting worse! (For the renewables detractors π€£)
A graph showing that 79% of UK electricity generation was from renewable sources and 99% from carbon neutral sources.
Apparently, no one can power their electricity grid using mostly renewable sources.
UK generation right now:
I finally got around to watching Dune 2 last night and what a mess the ending is!
It seems that Dune, like the Tolkien novels are going to forever suffer from poor screen adaptations. I'm glad no one has tried adapting the Galactic Milieu books yet.
Coming from a country with universal healthcare, we have two political views on it:
1, It's the right thing to do from an ethical thing to do
2, It's the right thing to do from a commercial point of view as people who recover can work and pay taxes.
I've also seen it shared by Ukrainian defence bloggers!
Well, this one has really run and run @ukdefencejournal.org.uk! π€£π€£

I can imagine MBDA will be in discussions with the JSDF shortly!
It's 57 years since the moon landing, and the only thing I could think when seeing the crew getting strapped into their seats is that the inside of the capsule still looks like it was made by a sadist with a box of Meccano.
The flip side of this coin is that simple tasks could take longer.
For example, an old machinist like me can create a one off screw, bolt or clamp in about the same time the CNC boys take to fire up the CAD package.
But they win with multiple items every time.
I thought of a good analogy for generative AI earlier.
AI is to creativity what CNC machines were to engineering. They cut a lot of the basic machining skill but are highly expensive and the results can be poor if you don't programme it properly.
Probably because they don't understand the risk, don't understand the difference between cyber and information security, want people with degrees in classics rather than industry recognised qualifications and want to hire entry level people who have at least 5 years of experience.

Anything by Black Lace, obvs.
I used to have a sump pump which collected all my ACs water output and when it was full, pumped it into the garden to water the flowers. Worked like a dream.
A graph showing that 71% of the UKs electricity generation came from wind power.
It's a bit windy today.
Still, lots of wind = more gas for heating and cooking.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Modern politics is like a British Taco Bell.
It promises so much, under delivers and once the initial satisfaction fades, you feel slightly cheated.
(And yes, I am still grumpy after finding out that they don't do steak tacos like the ones I had in the States).
American tourists used to say how great the US was and believe it.
Now they say it like they're trying to convince themselves.
We've got some great coffee chains in the UK but, somehow, Starbucks stays on business. π
