Starting to really believe that Cirie is winning 50 but I'm scared to get hurt

The NBA regular season is over already? But I wanted to read more takes about tanking
The only true NBA tanking solution is to just start openly rigging the draft order. The team that is most ethically ass gets the top pick
Tonight's episode of Survivor stands as the perfect contrast to last week's merge episode. Turns out if you just let legends play the game, it's great TV!
Prediction: Project Hail Mary is gonna spur a lot of sales for that one sweater
I'd prefer to not give my government ID and any other documents to Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, etc. These bans create a privacy/surveillance issue and I'm not convinced they will solve much of anything as kids will just get around the ban with VPNs. Laws can't replace parenting.
The NFL continues to inflate the broadcast calendar. I wrote about this in 2024 -- the league is verging on making its schedule bloated and difficult to follow, ruining the scarcity that is part of what makes it great.

Hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby
Throw in a Blood vs Water or Fans vs Favorites season at the halfway point between all-returnee seasons and you're really cooking
Upon some more thought here, Survivor should deploy all-returnee seasons on an Olympics/World Cup cadence. One every four years (so every eight seasons). Coincidentally, the original All-Stars season was Season 8.
Survivor has generally done a pretty good job of deploying returnee seasons with a steady hand. We've had just six all-returnee seasons out of 50 total. But I hope we don't wait another 10 seasons for the next one.
The FIFA Peace Prize used to mean something
I feel like Survivor has always been a family show. I've been watching since I was 7! Yeah you might have to have a conversation or two with your kids if you watch some of those early seasons, but that's called being a parent...
I can't wait for a talented ASOIAF fan to recut A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms into a 2.5-hour movie. Someone notify me when that happens
this felt pointed...
Unless something drastically changes, the Patriots offense will have negative EPA in all four of their playoff games. Has to be at least a bit of a concern heading into the offseason.
In what's become an annual tradition, here is my prop bet sheet for Super Bowl LX. As always I've endeavored to make it as unserious as possible -- perfect for a Super Bowl party with some less game-focused friends.
turns out this is a show about Targaryens! Here's some supplemental reading on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 3: www.theringer.com/2026/02/01/a...
I'm gonna die how did they not get Jerri on that beach
From @rileymcatee.bsky.social (with a footnote from me) on the Hall of Fame's stunning Bill Belichick snub:

If it was the voting process that let Belichick slip through the cracks, then that process needs to be changed. If the voters didn’t want to select him, then the voters need to be changed. In any scenario, the Hall of Fame not picking Belichick is a joke.

The Ringer's NFL Draft Guide got a major overhaul this season! @dannybkelly.bsky.social's same scouting reports, mock drafts, and player comps, but now with a new coat of paint.

the first batch of 2026 Ringer NFL Draft Guide reports is up! with scouting stuff from me and a bunch of great background/facts from @dancomer.bsky.social! see if you can guess which guy I comped to Chip Douglas www.theringer.com/nfl-draft/20...
I think just Josh McDaniels
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms remains good! I wrote about Ep 2 here:

possessions are why good situational football is so important. And the muffed punt was a killer. The Rams got only three (3!!!) real possessions in the second half. They went TD, TD, turnover on downs (on a long drive). Offense was rolling but L.A. just didn't have the football enough
if you take out the two end-of-half/game drives by the Rams (in which they had almost no time), the Seahawks had 10 possessions of the football to the Rams' 8. Massive difference. It's not talked about enough how important possessions are in football—it's basically a turn-based sport
officially planting my flag on refusing to call this super bowl a rematch. It's been 11 years!
Stafford has either reached a new plane of quarterbacking or he's about to commit the worst turnover you've ever seen
