Which Final Fantasy feels the most Final Fantasy?

I had a dentist appointment at 2:30 yesterday and did not think to say anything about this
I wonder if lateral thinking and puzzle solving is a skill you can train through practice. I am *incredibly* bad at puzzles in games when they require a less than direct approach.
I've been slowly making my way through Clair Obscur. I'm partway through act 2 and I'm enjoying the game but jeez it is so dreary throughout. The lighter moments are made bittersweet by just how oppressive the rest is. So far the theme seems to be "Persistence even where there seems to be no hope."
I might try to stream a few times this week, I wanna finish up Escape from Ever After. I think I'm getting pretty close.
I have a lot of good friends.
Bats!
What a nice day today was :3
How many failures will it take before these "it's just a tool" vibecoders realize a tool can, in fact, be a poorly conceived tool?
And finally: Go play Earthbound. Even if you end up hating it. Not only did it significantly shape my tastes as a kid, but it's SO influential on the modern indie RPG space. It's worth learning why.
Also play Small Saga if you haven't. Beautiful, funny, short, and very relevant game.
Combat was tough to choose -- I usually don't play games for their combat. I could put another JRPG on this list with Octopath Traveler. But thinking of games that I kept returning to for hours and hours *just* because of how engaging the combat felt, Hades was the one that really fit the bill.
I don't play a ton of multiplayer games. WoW is the game I keep coming back to, and it's great when I've got friends to play it with. Diablo 2 and Destiny 2 were probably the only other games I've spent a ton of time with friends in, and of those two, Diablo is the only one that's still a good game.
I had a hard time with picking overhated. But I guess even after the expansion dropped, D3 never got over its reputation. I enjoyed RoS for what it was: A mindless romp I could enjoy for a couple weeks and put down again for a few seasons. I don't *love* the game, but I did have fun with it.
On overrated...I kinda hated FF7 Rebirth. Too long, too meandering, too much progression gated behind minigames and uninteresting side activities. It's fine if people liked it but jeez that game was not for me. Which was disappointing after Remake because I enjoyed that a bunch.
I cannot pick a favorite game. I have too many, and many are *old*. I put Undertale, but Earthbound, Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, and Link to the Past on this grid for other reasons, but those also vie for the "Favorite game" slot and there absolutely are others that should be there too.
A grid of games titled "About Me: Video Games" with the following choices: Favorite Game: Undertale Best Story: Final Fantasy Tactics Favorite Art Style: Persona 5 Biggest Personal Impact: Earthbound Best Combat: Hades Overhated: Diablo III Underrated: Dragon Warrior 7 Overrated: Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth Needs a Remake: Final Fantasy IX Criminally Overlooked: Small Saga Favorite Protagonist: Disco Elysium Favorite Antagonist: Final Fantasy VI Best Soundtrack: Final Fantasy IX Best Multiplayer: Diablo II Not Usually My Thing, But...: Elden Ring Turn My Brain Off: Orb of Creation Best with Friends: World of Warcraft Best Retro Game: Chrono Trigger Nostalgic Childhood Game: The Legend of Zelda: A Link tot he Past Game Everyone Should Play: Earthbound
Alright so I've got some takes I guess. This very clearly shows what kind of gamer I am lol. I know there are some dupes, but whatever. Some explanations below...
(None of these are set in stone, these are just what came to mind while putting this together c: )
I am *way* too horny this week
I often feel like I'm just kind of drifting from day to day. Like I need to shake things up, but I'm not sure how.
Alternatively, I just ruminate too much.
I've heard people say that time moves faster as you have fewer novel experiences and boy do I feel that lately
First 5k run under half an hour since before the pandemic yeahhhhh
Cursed game idea: DevOps roguelike. Each round you have to achieve certain metrics under a certain budget.
I made an alphabet out of Graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows.
I call it s'mores code.
Allergy season is heeeeere
I have not been sleeping well this week. I've also been very productive. This is a pattern for me: When I don't sleep well and am tired all day, I get a lot more work done.
I don't like this pattern.

Been a bit but I wanna play some Escape from Ever After today :3

It deserved it. It knows what it did.
Go away snow I want spring ;.;
Mmm I need to get back in the habit of writing horny fiction for myself
