The only thing that will make the abysmal state of affairs that is the direction our country is headed, is knowing that I’m actively participating in the fight against authoritarianism, so I’m back here to learn and connect to being a part of movements.

Haven’t been on here in a long time, as I’ve mostly turned to Reddit to fulfill my needs for learning and laughs and general “what’s going on in the world” post-Twitter, but in the wake of everything that’s happening, I’m looking to connect to action.

Being a realistic realist, if the last few years have taught me anything, is that the methods of old are toothless and we’re not willing to sacrifice comfort for improvement. I hope I’m wrong and we find the gumption to fight harder and more effectively.

We’ve lost the stomach to be revolutionary, clearly. We’re too comfortable in our systems to upend them even when they do severe harm, and we clearly lack the persistence to wait out the long discomfort that yield results. I’m usually an optimistic realist but…
