Thank you WAC25 and @ircam.bsky.social for three super interesting days at the coolest research center any sound artist could dream of! Here’s a snapshot from my performance of the periodic table last night.

Arrived in Paris today. Getting ready to perform the periodic table as musical algorithm tomorrow at @ircam.bsky.social (WAC25)

This Friday 3:30 PM in AIR LAB @itu.dk
The Periodic Table is a BEAT! (Live) and EMMA The Dance Machine (interactive installation).
Electron configs as music algorithm and embodied musical interaction design live concert and presentation!

In collaboration with AIR Lab at @itu.dk I am exploring how an interactive sound art installation can become a sociological research probe. #SoundArt #SonicInteractionDesign #ResearchThroughArtAndDesign
AIR Lab @itu.dk proudly presents the first iteration of our monthly deep listening events. Our guest this month is world renowned jazz guitarist Thor Madsen. Thor will be performing with his algorithm Thormulator which allows mutual music making between human and machine.

The Three Body Problem Audio Model
Gravitational pull → Pitch (more pull = higher pitch)
Acceleration → Filter (more accel = brighter sound)
Orbital angle → Amplitude (envelope)
Space bar starts and stops, start positions are randomized each time the program is run.

A 2 bar per atom iteration of the periodic table as musical algorithm. Each electron shell is represented by an oscilloscope line, which makes electron configurations both audible and visible. youtu.be/cknWydMRIMQ

Sound art as epistemic method! Exhibition and live performance Friday 13th 15:00 at Air Lab, IT University of Copenhagen @itu.dk

This is a three-minute example of my latest methodical transfer epistemic art–science project at @itu.dk: AirPrint, a real-time exploration of urban air quality.
The music reflects the concentration of six air pollutants measured in central Copenhagen on May 7th at 6:48pm.

An experimental platform combining chess with real-time harmonics. Each move triggers a chord tied to a board position, letting players hear their gameplay. After the game, the full game becomes a continuous chord progression.

The Diatonic Diamond: a self-similar harmonic grid where every part reflects the whole.
Suggests new models for fractal composition — harmony unfolding recursively across scales.

New composition tool in the making. The tool doubles as an affective chess game analyser by converting chess games into chord progressions.

… here with an additional two rows and chord names. Notice how the Ionian scale appears backwards in the middle row.
A little diatonic experiment. Maybe a key in spe to fractal composition. 🤔🤗

Virtual Ikebana based on Fibonacci numbers
9 loops (1–55 min), starting randomly, always aligning musically.
A 3D soundwork inspired by Japanese flower art – 3 sound types (soundscape, melody, bass) arranged in 3 asymmetrical triangles following Ikebana principles.

The latest offshoot of the “art as scientific method” branch in my studies and research at IT University of Copenhagen, is an audiovisual project for iPhones. Real-time data from air quality measurements creates a soundscape that is visualized using color codes. Pure, ideal air is represented by a clear soundscape, which is obstructed in real time via seven data points (five gases and two particle sizes). It’s an app-based art experience that, through augmented reality, gives the illusion that the user can see and hear the air quality exactly where they are standing and walking.
My latest “art as scientific method” @itu.dk: an app-based art project where real-time air quality data shapes a soundscape, visualized through color codes. Seven data points (gases + particles) distort the ideal sound. AR makes users see and hear air quality around them.

Through my studies at @itu.dk I've developed a rhizomatic composition tool and technique, that could become a new way of releasing autogenerative music ... not just digitally but also physically. Try out the prototype!

Come check out my alter ego on Friday (if you should happen to be in Copenhagen).
A final shout-out about my geometric scale and chord tool, which I now declare complete. The tool is packed with features such as chord and scale recognition, a random chord and scale generator, a root tone soundscape, MIDI export, and much more.
#Scales #Chords #MusicTheory #Geometry
Switching between Root Scape and Rndm Seq allows you to hear your scale in a dynamic musical setting, with Root Scape providing a tonal foundation for the random note combinations.

Skønt, det vil jeg straks eksperimentere med.
