So if you say, bind the toggle to a side mouse button, you get something pretty close to semi-auto fire. Not as powerful as the pistol still but the ammo is basically free, especially if you're going for a OSA run and take Recharge

Something I noticed doing some SS2 runs. The Laser Pistol is widely considered pretty trash as the main shot is basically a tickle beam and overcharge has a long recharging period. But I found if you toggle the fire modes that period vanishes
