Today, we honor Naima DeBrest - 2019. Naima was a leader at SLA, working as a Student Assistant Teacher in several classes.
After SLA, Naima earned a BA from Morgan State and an MA from Temple.
Today, Naima works in Communications for SDP, telling the stories of the students of Philadelphia.

Today, we honor Kobe Nabried, Class of 2017. After graduation, Kobe served as a Combat Weatherman for the USAF. Kobe graduated from Drexel University. Today, Kobe is an on-air broadcast meteorologist at WCBD News 2 in Charleston, South Carolina.
Our students in the phlebotomy ILP learned how to separate plasma from blood using the centrifuge today!
Today, we honor Katherine (Hunt) Black, Class of 2014. Katherine is an executive at Vanguard. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate from Eastern University after having received a Masters from Drexel University, a Masters from Eastern University and her Bachelors Degree from Colby College.
Today, we honor Manna-Symone Middlebrooks, Class of 2013. Manna-Symone is the Touring Director of the Tony Award winning play, Jaja’s African Hair Braiding. As a senior, she created “Blinding Silence” - a play examining the intersection of race, media and society. For more visit: manna-simone.com
We honor Tamir Harper, Class of 2018. Tamir has dedicated himself to improving public education. While at SLA, Tamir co-founded and led UrbEd Advocates. He has been a Philly educator and advocate. Today, Tamir is an executive at Philadelphia Academies.

Today, we honor Sinnea Douglas, class of 2011. She received her B.A. from Ursinus College and her Masters from Louisiana State University. Today, Sinnea is a founding special education teacher at NursesMC, a new high school dedicated to preparing students for medical careers in Nashville, TN.
