The lanceolated warbler was a nice surprise today on an otherwise slow ringing day at Nanjizal
If you still have friends on Twitter, maybe this will convince them to junk it. The Muskrat openly bankrolling Tommy Ten-Names in the UK courts brings Lord Rothermere and the BUF to mind, only Rothermere wasn't the richest man in the world. Fascism always goes hand-in-hand with obscene wealth.
Some nice birds from first couple of days ringing at Nanjizal in Cornwall, cracking Nightingale and a couple of Yellow browed warbler amongst around 500 new birds ringed in two days. 5 more days to go...
Night of the living dead
Calling on all East Glamorgan birders. Nothing in your diary this Saturday night? Fancy crossing the border into Gwent for this event?
This @gos-birds.bsky.social talk is about our local BTO / @webs-gsmp.bsky.social / @glamorganbirdclub.bsky.social Green Sandpiper project and its amazing findings.
This is an absurd misuse of laws designed to tackle terrorism and an insane waste of a resource-starved criminal justice system.
There were obviously not 900 terrorists wandering through central London on Saturday and it's utterly ridiculous to act as if there were
Greedy
At Uskmouth.
Aquatic warbler trapped and ringed this morning, good session with over 100 birds, mostly sedge warbler and reed warbler
Refer back to The Cornishman, circa 1990's ' guinea pigs abandoned in St Just Square' and 'lost sailor found in telephone box'.
Very sad to see Labour govt flogging off allotment sites. Allotments provide sustainable, healthy food, encourage exercise and community spirit, & are rich in biodiversity. 10,000 people are on waiting lists to get one! Idiotic. We need more, not fewer!

I thought so as well but heard from a number of sources!
Madav in Riverside always been best, and I've heard some alarming rumours of VFS being run by a right wing extremist!!
Hi Annie, keep an eye out for colour ringed birds if you can, white darvic with 3 black letters, we have a ringing scheme operating from 4 sites around Caerphilly and Cardiff, be good to know if they are around your way!
How did we get here π
' it's definitely slows...' makes no grammatical sense, and this cannot possibly be a poem!
Tops, thank you!
Thank you Ed,appreciate that, I think we may have seen hairy as well, I will trawl my photos, and pay more attention in the field!!
Any good botanists out there to help? Thought I may have found land quillwort on a trip to Kynance Cove but then probs over excited and likely spring squill??
Tbh they look very similar but thyme was always growing out of patches of wild thyme, we saw common as well
Nice day out in Kynance Cove, Lizard, Cornwall, super plants included thyme broomrape, wild asparagus, hairy greenweed and the very rare, but slightly underwhelming fringed rupturewort
Hi Pete, yes it is best year since we started in 2019 by some margin for pulli, a bit of a way to go to beat our 232 adults but it may happen this weekend!
Just short of 700 pied flycatcher chicks ringed this season so far , and over 200 adults ringed/ re-trapped with #Fledgemore at the @rspbcymru.bsky.social Gwenfrwydd-dinas Reserve @btocymru.bsky.social @birdsinwales.bsky.social
And you too! Great to share with you all, we've had some pretty unpleasant exchanges with members of the public intent on ignoring the signage so it was a real pleasure to chat with you, I had a good day with 8 adults retrapped and 40+ pulli ringed.
No worries we'll catch him at some point, very nice wood warbler photos btw!
One of our ri ged birds there Frank, don't suppose you could read it??
