e.g. quite a few languages aren't built to easily convey gender ambiguity. Which is obviously a huge and sensitive problem in some cases. But you're dealing with *the ancient legacy of language* rather than a cultural issue. Difficult.

The last mile of dev from the narrative side involves dealing with a tsunami of questions from translation teams.

On the one hand, it is a massive headache. On the other, it's a keen insight into how the world is gonna interpret what you've done, and some surprising cultural variances.

I also picked up a Zoids holy grail, the enormous if desperately slow Ultrasaurus. Involved a 90 min road trip to a very a strange house, then a day clearing a gruesome, inch-thick layer of someone else's dead skin cells off every part, plus disassembling the dead motor.

I loved every moment of it.
