Finally got my hands on Spelunky's #GameDev book, very excited to read it!
(The eggplant did not arrive with the book)
I have written my first devlog! xavaltir.com/DevLog01.html I talk a bit about the game projects I'm working on and some of the other stuff I've done recently, it probably reads awkward as heck but defo check it out π

Classic
The pokemon ranger capture mechanic is really cool! :D
Also, just to clarify. The weapon in the gif is the Blinding Light of Destiny from AQW, I do not own that art! I use it to prototype the mechanic I am working onπ
I didn't post for a while because I was busy working on a proper Save and Load system that is both Scaleable & Decoupled. A lot of friends have given me advice on how to improve it along the way and I am really grateful for that. I could not have done it without them!
Having #GameDev friends rocks!
Super cool!
Are there more like this? This is really cool!
That looks really fun!
Would it be possible to fix the download/reading for any ipad? There is lots of promotional imagery about unity games on ipad but kinda silly that I cant download or read the books on my ipad
One frustrating thing about these resources is that unity keeps promoting them with visuals of ipad's but you cant read them on the site with an ipad π
Huh, I never thought about that usecase before. Thx for the useful tip!
That is a cool way to use the gyro of the steam deck!
Was not planning on posting this progress but @atlantiaking.bsky.social motivated me to do so in the end whahahahahahah
Progress on my inventory System! Item colliders no longer block inventory tiles. I've almost wrapped up on the inventory but there is one pesky bug! #gamedev
This Rider plugin turns your loading bar into a Pokemon trainer walking with Pikachu, EASILY the best plugin for a Game Developer's IDE
#GameDev
Thanks! ;D
Iteration 5 and Iβm finally back to my original baseline. Progress isn't always linear, but it's still progress π#gamedev
Hahahha, not the Tung Tung Tung Sahoor fish π
Donkey Kong Bananza's character controller is actually bananas, it moves butter smooth
It doesn't have subtasks sadly enough but the whiteboard is more than worth it haha. I bought it, hopefully the maker will add subtasks in the future π
Looks interesting, does the kanban board tasks include subtasks?
Very creative! :D
Looks very nice! :D
The health bars being blocks really helps with readability, nice!
The eye blinking and the animations already look cool! The end result will be even better whahahah :D
