I wonder if One Nation have talked to their candidate for Nepean in the upcoming by-election, Darren Hercus, who twelve years ago was (to his credit) reposting Greenpeace on Facebook, opposing WA's shark cull.
Angus Taylor,
My mother is rapidly approaching the end of her life, in aged care. This awful time is being made easier by the tender, thoughtful care by people from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Australia. How dare you talk about ‘Australian Values’ & reboot One Nation/Trump bs about migrants.
Stoked our government is launching a $20 million ad to encourage responsible fuel use but won’t introduce a 25% tax on multinational companies making billions off Australia’s gas.
Honestly, @albomp.bsky.social, how do you expect us to take you and @australianlabor.bsky.social seriously?
Begging the algorithm to stop showing me posts from folks I don’t follow saying their dog died.
Farage reckons it’s because of one really giant Hungarian family voting
The Sciences Sing a Lullabye Albert Goldbarth 1948 – Physics says: go to sleep. Of course you’re tired. Every atom in you has been dancing the shimmy in silver shoes nonstop from mitosis to now. Quit tapping your feet. They’ll dance inside themselves without you. Go to sleep. Geology says: it will be all right. Slow inch by inch America is giving itself to the ocean. Go to sleep. Let darkness lap at your sides. Give darkness an inch. You aren’t alone. All of the continents used to be one body. You aren’t alone. Go to sleep. Astronomy says: the sun will rise tomorrow, Zoology says: on rainbow-fish and lithe gazelle, Psychology says: but first it has to be night, so Biology says: the body-clocks are stopped all over town and History says: here are the blankets, layer on layer, down and down.
Night night.
With a 2023 #FOI access refusal under legal challenge, taxpayer funded lawyers are now releasing more & more info on #AUKUS nuclear waste plans. Ironically, one thing the Govt’s been keeping from the public is their keenness to gain a social licence from the same public 🤦♂️. #auspol
Labor wants to cut the NDIS instead of taxing gas exports or the 1% because they think disabled people will be an easier target than big corps or billionaires.
They’re wrong.
Disabled people are used to fighting for their rights, and the Greens will always back them.
One major problem is that ambitious types in the armed forces know their chances of promotion rise with their experience in real combat. Hence the passion for jumping in anywhere that'll take them.
JUST IN: 🇹🇷🇮🇱 Turkey says Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's "current objective is to undermine ongoing peace negotiations."
"Failing this, he risks being tried in his own country and is likely to be sentenced to imprisonment."
A fascinating read. Thank you.
The electors of Hungary turned out to have something in common with the electors of Warringah - a keen understanding that every opinion Tony Abbott has is, by definition, wrong.
BREAKING: The Iranians say they had no choice but to pull out of peace talks with the US, explaining they do not negotiate with terrorists 👀

I’m sure I haven’t got a single Hungarian follower but BIG SHOUTOUT TO HUNGARIANS VOTING TO SEND ORBAN TO THE DUSTBIN OF HISTORY FOLLOWED HOPEFULLY BY JAIL
No shade to the OP for admitting this, but it shocks me that people my age don’t know this.
You fundamentally cannot understand how the world functions, how power works, if you don’t know history.
Absolutely.

Pain set to continue for Australia as US & Iran remain in disagreement. The refineries will reach the end of the pre- Trump war oil shipments around late April to May. #auspol www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...
wow I can’t believe that sending the most unlikable man alive to lead very sensitive political negotiations didn’t work
Surely we couldn't not squeeze another double-negative in there?
In a past life, he had to have managed the distribution of blankets infected with smallpox.
As (Nobel laureate) Krugman pointed out a week ago, *physical* interruption of crude supply has only just started. Next there's the long supply chain in refined products -- in refinery tanks, tankers at sea. Another few weeks yet.
As with COVID, expect people to be mighty surprised when it happens.
Certainly not commercial trucks, which barely pay any tax on fuel at all.
Right now they pay exactly none -- no excise, zero road user charge, no GST (that is charged on fuel but rebated against GST businesses collect).
Wow. Heather Cox Richardson clarity:
'But it is hard to miss that hours after his wife gave an unexpected press conference about Jeffrey Epstein, Trump posted a video of a woman’s murder.'

If I lived in Lebanon, this would make me very nervous. Netanyahu has a clear incentive to provoke Iran to pull out of the ceasefire by attacking Lebanon again. Netanyahu always prioritizes himself over the lives of innocent civilians.
