This week, I’m joined by @weakenedfriends.bsky.social's Sonia Sturino to dig into Feels Like Hell, the band’s 2025 release that captures the emotional whiplash of modern life with biting honesty and melodic grit.

Just so you know, Boyz Noise will play for about an hour, then NIN starts immediately, no break.

It's the best visual show I've ever seen and the band sounds amazing. You are in for a treat.

I just saw them a few weeks ago. It's incredible! I saw them at Woodstock '94, Self-Destruct Tour, Fragile and also with Bowie and this is Reznor at his absolute best. Enjoy!

Past events exist, after all, only in memory, which is a form of imagination. The event is real now, but once it’s then, its continuing reality is entirely up to us, dependent on our energy and honesty.

Dreams of Being Dust The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die return August 22 with Dreams of Being Dust, an album that finds the Connecticut- formed collective plumbing the depths of emotional ruin and emerging with their most scorched, unrelenting work yet. Co- produced by guitarist Chris Teti (Fiddlehead, Anxious) and Greg Thomas (END, Misery Signals), the album exchanges the band's usual sprawl for something more serrated-folding djent-like heft and post-hardcore volatility into their post-everything DNA.Dreams of Being Dust is the band's fifth studio album, and follows up their well- received 2021 album, Illusory Walls which arrived as their "heaviest, proggiest, most audacious release to date" according to Stereogum. Tackling complex social and political themes like religion and capitalism, Pitchfork praised it's scathing indictments as "fuming with resentment for the ruthless greed and self-interest fueling societal collapse. If Illusory Walls was their grand reckoning, Dreams Of Being Dust is the aftermath: raw, furious, alive. But even amid the chaos, the band's core remains intact-a belief in community, resistance, and making sense of the world through sheer volume and vulnerability. TWIABP have always blurred the lines between hope and despair, and here, that duality feels sharper than ever. Now a decade in, the band- David F. Bello (vocals), Chris Teti (guitar/vocals), Joshua Cyr (bass), Katie Dvorak (synth/vocals), Steven K. Buttery (drums), and Anthony Gesa (guitar/vocals)-deliver a message that sounds less like a eulogy and more like a rallying cry.

I have a very fond memory of this album. My Dad and I would sit and listen to the vinyl and read the lyrics and talk about the fables. Incredible stuff. Took him to see Steve Hackett last year and he closed with Los Endos❤️

Funny story: I asked Buster Olney the same thing on Twitter years ago and he blocked me. Guess I hit a nerve. Dude made a living off other people's work.

Honestly every time I see them they get better. Going to see them next week. If you have a chance buy the tickets when they are near by. They are currently touring with an additional guitarist and their sound is gigantic!

I am talking about something else:

The new Dry Cleaning album “Secret Love” goes hard

I love the fact that their vocalist has a BEAUTIFUL singing voice but still chooses to talk her way through most of the album

When she sings it’s like she pulled out a secret weapon at the right moment

My wife teaches rhetoric and literature. She is constantly yelling about how books aren't guides, they're meant to scare you and educate.

3 months ago 2 1 0 0

I think it has more to do with literacy understanding. These movies and books aren't playbooks, they are cautionary tales. This also bleeds into not understanding media bias and being able to identify propaganda. Rhetoric needs to be taught at all levels of education.
