Look, I'm just saying, when the costs for the clothing my parents and I are buying/renting for a wedding cost as much as a month's rent at my old apartment, you can't blame us for being hesitant about showing up.

When the devs pipe up
i've seen "it would really stick it to the devs if we left bsky" posts & no it wouldn't. they want this web site to be boring crypto idiots who cool their phones off in pools chatting with AI reply bots. instead they have to put up with us and that's deeply funny
Republican leadership intended to vote to gut the Endangered Species Act today… and then didn't have the support needed, so they pulled the bill.
Happy Earth Day! 🌍
It's still so crazy that in 2024 a huge chunk of bsky's userbase hit a peak of "we're ready to pay subscriptions for bigger features and support the platform, just tell us when it drops 🫡" and then within six months the Bsky team gleefully cut through all that good will with surgical precision

The Wednesday night WTJU Rock Marathon has two heavy hitters: 9pm Leslie Scott-Jones presents "Rock Steady - A Black Women Hall of Fame". Brother Jimmy the Truth shakes up the airwaves with "Live at Max’s" (11pm). Please shake up the donate box at wtju.net/donate. Keep community radio alive!
If I were to get married, I'd want it to be a much more informal thing. I'm already making people drive out to attend; I wouldn't want them to break their banks on clothing as well.
Weddings are a neat concept, but I'll admit I'd get a lot more excited about attending them if they were cheaper. My cousin is getting married next month and between the costs of renting a tux, driving way out of state and getting a hotel room, not to mention current gas prices... YEESH. 😵💫

It's almost too on the nose. (Especially in the fact that said crystal ball wound up utterly misleading Saruman and failing him in the end, which will probably happen with the IRL company as well.)

Oh by the way: it’s real and it’s SPECTACULAR.
Good things come in 3s & on the afternoon of 4/22 we've got 3 great shows, 2 that focus on 3s! The Foggy Notion duo presents Rock n Roll Trios (2pm). Annie de Blanco presents Absolutely Amazing 3rd Albums (4pm). Mary Beth 2-steps in to break the 3-summit w/ a show on instructional dance songs (6pm).
I know the world is terrible right now, but good things still happen and good art is still being made.
And I'm fucking tired of people pretending that they aren't.
