Is it Monday already? Really? Wasn't it Monday like 5 minutes ago?
Are they messing with the 4th Dimension again? Coffee still exists in this timeline, so I will persist. Sadly, so does MAGA.๐คข

Oh, stop it. TV doesn't have paywalls. The AP and other outlets don't have paywalls.
I'm gonna start just blocking people who complain about this.
It made the news in the UK. If I can know about it here....

Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come.

In his spat with the pope, Trump makes his Catholic followers choose: โYou can either be Catholic or you can follow me, Donald Trump, but you canโt be both.โ

Everything is fine
Without Reaganism, you do not get Gorbachev. (And remember, Gorbachev got stiffed for the job in early 1984.) Reagan's reelection - Russian scholars told me - was a huge shock to the Soviets.
Soviet memoirs / declassified stuff are pretty convincing on this.
Uh, Bialer and Afferica argued in 1982 that the Soviet economy was "a gigantic economy administered by intelligent and trained professionals" that would "not go bankrupt" and in no danger of a systemic crisis.
Not sure where you went to school, but the following year I was in Bialer's classroom. /1
I remember that and was mystified at the time! ๐
How /why do you think he came to support such a premise?
They create the political and legal enviroment in which all those other things get done, and when you don't have them doing that well, you get...Orban and Erdogan and Trump
Well said, Tom.๐
Geraldine Ferraro said over 20 years ago that when she was campaigning around Pittsburgh, she met a bunch of steelworkers losing their jobs , yet they said they'd vote for Reagan. She asked why and one of them replied, "Because he makes us feel strong." Old Ron was a hell of a salesman.
Me: I'm making an empirical statement, not defending it
Bluesky: I can't believe how much you're defending it
By making their case to the public, the way the Reaganites did in the 1980s.

This is a well-documented pattern in medical research and reflects systemic gender bias in pain assessment and treatment.๐
This is why I follow you and other past republicans that were never trumpers. Ya'll are the smartest ones and give me perspective I appreciate learning.
Yes. I voted the same way and I was always on the other side of the populist drift.
Admire? Too strong. But the right guy at the right time, and he made a lot of good calls (including the people he hired, like George Shultz.) He also made bad calls, and probably should have been impeached over Iran-Contra, but the Democrats bungled that horribly.
Not today. But someday.
