Rewatching Dune 1&2 after Reading 1-4 it struck me that especially the second part shys away from the fact that Paul chose (at least the possibility of ) the holy war as a consequence quite early in his journey.

Say what you will about Dune one way or the other, but they're gonna put out 3 good looking, largely enjoyable movies without making us wait a half decade between them, and I will applaud that with my money.
