I was 2 weeks from my move out, thus the single thought i had while painting here was, “is there more warmth in the comfort of your bed or in the ever changing city outside?” 💭

I challenged myself with a limited colour palette this time. This study wasn’t just a contrast in colour, with the theme, “harmony in contrast”, i thought about the mood and memory that came with this picture reference.

This study took 50 minutes, and half way through i felt like i was done, but i wanted to push for more. I think this is my main struggle with this medium, thinking that “less is more” but i remain unsure 💭

Side onyx’s song pick is perfect for this grouping, and fits the concept of this illustration. It sounds so bittersweet. Their vocals brought that emotion out perfectly.

(The fact that both songs are well mixed makes it easy to put on repeat 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Even tho rio’s my oshi, upon first few listens i’d say special kiss by side achroite is my fave…it’s that charming, classic jp idol melody and vocal stack that is exactly what i like🥹

(was busy in dec so i listened for the first time a few days ago)

The mastering/mix is SO GOOD, and it’s rare to see combinations like these.
