That verse about "maybe we'll lose our home" that ends with the refrain "there'll be something good about me soon" always breaks my heart and makes me worry about how Green keeps the lights on in the long stretches between LPs.

Got a reissue a few years back! I keep meaning to pick up a copy if I see it in the wild. Interviewed Green for MOJO around that time and he was such a lovely dude.

The conservative intelligentsia is just wildly, cartoonistly racist, and the fact that this gets less elite pushback from the prestige media/commentariat than "woke" does is such a damning indictment of our whole society.
