Plans by the Trump administration and its allies in the legislative and judicial branches to eliminate birthright citizenship amount to a conspiracy against the democratic rights of the entire population, immigrant and non-immigrant alike.

#Trump’s cabinet: A blueprint for authoritarian rule & social counter-revolution
There is no precedent in 🇺🇸 history—nor likely in the modern history of any country in the 🌎—for a government so completely in the grips of great & utterly parasitic wealth.

Unprecedented level of spending by dark money groups in the 2024 election, compared with most recent elections. 18/
According to a study which was recently published by Americans for Tax Fairness, just 150 billionaire families alone spent 2 billion dollars on the 2024 election, almost double the amount those same families spent on the 2020 campaigns, a massive increase in influence. 17/
the election outcome and the coming to power of Donald Trump represents a sort of coming into being or an expression of the real forms of social relations in America, which is that this is a society that is dominated by the oligarchy. 16/
None of this means that this is a very right-wing electorate. In fact, when asked what they think about policies, the overwhelming majority of Americans say that they support expanding Medicare, cutting the cost of prescription drugs, massive tax increases... 15/
These numbers will change somewhat as final votes are tallied, but the Democrats saw a massive collapse in support in the cities. 14/
Democrats saw their vote collapse in a wide-ranging array of working class regions that they had won for generations. 13/
Again, Harris performs very well among that tiny sliver of the population that is enthusiastic, whose stock portfolios have been increasing over the past four years, who aren’t concerned w/ the genocide, who aren’t concerned about the escalation of the war against Russia. 12/
The % of the population who thinks the country is on the right and wrong track has also increased significantly. In 2016 it was 62%-33% wrong track v. right track in 2016, and now, only 6% is enthusiastic about conditions in the United States & 75% are angry or dissatisfied. 11/
This is a massive increase in just four years. Only a quarter of the population said they are suffering from no hardship, and Harris did very well among these voters, among voters who have nothing really to worry about financially. The Democrats are the party of the rich. 10/
16% of pppl said in 2020 that the coronavirus has caused them severe hardship, 39% said moderate financial hardship, 44% said no financial hardship at all. Fast fwd to 2024 and look at those same numbers on the bottom half. 75% of the population is experiencing hardship. 9/
The only demographic among all ages and races where the Democratic Party increased their vote support was among the affluent and among the super-rich. Harris won 51 to 47 among those making $100-200k and also defeated Trump among those making $200k or more. 8/
That is reversed in 2024. If you look to the bottom half of this slide, Harris won among the poorest section of the population only very narrowly 50 to 46. Trump defeated Harris by 53 to 45 percent among those making $30-50k and 51 to 46 percent among those making $50-100k.
7/
In 2020, Dem defeated Trump in 2020 by substantial margins among those making less than $100,000, and they lost among those making more than $100,000. In other words, Trump was winning more votes from rich people, & Biden was winning more votes from the working class.
6/
The margin of young people who voted for the Democratic Party declined from 40 percent in 2008 to just 11 percent in this election as millions sat out over Biden-Harris' involvement in genocide in Gaza.
5/
Among Latino men, the Democratic Party has consistently beaten Republicans by a 30 percent margin for the last several cycles. In this most recent election this turned into a defeat. Trump defeated the Democrats by a margin of 12 percent among Latino men.
4/
Dems ran a campaign based on a combination of right-wing economic policies and imperialism and identity politics. Identity politics is not winning substantial, or really any, support beyond the most affluent 10 percent of the population. Significant decline among black men: 3/
Calif. vote totals will change the totals in the image here (2024 totals now 50.1% to 48.3%). This was the 1st time in the 3 Trump elections that Trump won the popular vote (and may end up winning majority of votes).
2/
🧵on the Democratic Party's collapse in support (except among the rich) & election of Trump. Trump's vote increased slightly (~74 million to ~76 million), but Dems vote total fell by nearly ~8 million, a historic collapse.
