It's so good. I love seeing new players faces when they go from "I don't get it what's the point of this game?" to the moment when it all clicks and they fall in love.

I fully agree. One of the people that came agrees as well, as he brought 6 games of his own! 🤣

Classic board gamer move. Going out to a game night at the pub? Better pack 9 games!
Sorry, but going back with an option is… not an option. The game has been rewritten. The cards were designed by professional graphic designers. A publisher with decades of experience validated them. Kosmos, Asmodee, and Board Game Arena requested this update to the very old version due to numerous requests. Now, if some of you think you can explain to all of them how to do their job, maybe you should apply. The game stays as it is. It’s beautiful, inclusive, and more faithful to what you get if you buy the physical copy nowadays. (I’m aware this is not true in every country, so please don’t start a pointless argument about it.) For those who were genuinely interested to know, the 6th expedition was not requested by the publisher, so it is not planned for now
A lot of people are asking for an option to choose the art, which is a pretty common feature for games on BGA that have multiple editions (e.g. Castles of Burgundy). The developers' response feels unnecessarily hostile.
Lost Cities cards on Board Game Arena
BGA updated the art on the Lost Cities, and I hate it.
Def not me eyeing up the 7 HACK games before even finishing FFIX...
I will also say that the isekai nature of the story has given me a huge urge to revisit the .HACK universe
Finished Dungeon Crawler Carl today. It was a fast, fun read. Pretty juvenile in places, but interesting enough to keep me reading.
I'll say this, I finsihed DDC in 4 days or so. It may not be a work of literary genius, it's certainly entertaining, which is something to be lauded.
A pickle jar in a brown bag, hanging via a hanger on the waffle iron lid
Not to be deterred, my waffle iron solution includes a hanger, a bag, and a large pickle jar.
Broken clip from waffle iron
Tried a new waffle recipie today. Much thicker than usual. They expanded up and not out and broke the clip on my waffle iron

I'm 120 pages in. It's fine. Kinda fun. Pretty dumb. Standard isekai stuff, really.
Absolutely. You can always do something, but you won't be able to do everything.
Recall main board near the end of the game
13 rounds makes for a really tight game. There isn't enough time for you to accomplish everything, but the opportunity for cascading combos seems really high.
I'm very keen to play it again! I feel like the skill ceiling for Recall is quite high.

Tonight's #boardgame is Recall! I've really been looking forward to this!

Yum yum yum

Hooold. Hoooooold. HOOOOOOLD! Perfect

Making Caramel is as close to playing chicken as I ever get.
Cook it too far, burnt. Don't cook it enough, bland. You gotta get it juuuust right
Oh that's good to know! I loved Chrono Cross back in the day and wondered where the series went.
How does the Baten Kaitos sequel compare to the original game?
I remember playing that on the GameCube way back in the day, but I remember almost nothing about it. It's got some pretty great style, somewhat reminiscent of Chrono Cross is I recall correctly

Love a good audiobook and a drive
I had the same experience! Took my Mom to Project Hail Mary, it was in an "UltraAVX" theatre, which means it was $45.50 CDN for 2 tickets! And then the 2-person popcorn combo was another $45.
I probably won't be back to the theatre for another 5 years at this point...
Mega Man X ending credits
Mega Man X is one of those games I've played so much that I can muscle memory my way though the whole game in less than 4 hours.
I think I died twice. Once in the octopus level and once to the final boss.

People ask me all the time, "How can I hide my latest board game from my wife? She says we need groceries, but I really want those sweet miniatures. I'll paint them someday, I swear."
Well, I've got your back. Here's how to hide your board game purchases: spacebiff.com/2026/04/01/h...
Mega Man X gameplay: Chill Penguin blowing up
Mega Man X gameplay: Storm Eagle about to meet their end
Mega Man X gameplay: Flame Mammoth in his final moments
Mega Man X gameplay: Armored Armadillo showing off before his defeat.
These punks got nothing on me.

Sometimes when my emotion tank is empty, I just drink and play Mega Man X
Walkable City has under 3 days remaining on Kickstarter!
We've just about smashed our existing stretch goals to make the city more gorgeous and add some fancy destination meeples - Take a look at the campaign below!

My thoughts as I listen to this weeks Omnigamers Club Podcast.
I literally have not played any games from either the Castlevania or Metroid franchise. It's a pretty big blind spot in my video game resume.
The teaser for that new Harry Potter series raises an intriguing question: can you still support a series if the creator is terrible, and the prequel movie series is terrible, and the sequel play is terrible, and the original movies are terrible, and the source material is terrible, and
See the recent Altered Kickstarter that had listed a €50,000 goal, but was cancelled when it didn't hit €2,000,000.

Screenshot of text reading "... And if you somehow missed it, here's the Kickstarter! God knows they do not need the money, considering they met their goal in TEN MINUTES and, of writing this, have exceeded it by nearly 5200%!!!!!!!"
Funding goals aren't real. They're purposefully listed low so they can advertise wild numbers like "funded in 10 minutes" and "5200% over the goal"
