Same, I am low volume for production to start with, and then the effort to post stuff seems to make me a sporadic presence.

Definitely will!
A light green ceramic leaf sits incongruously on a water drenched rock. There is darker green moss and brighter green vines on the edges of the pic. The leaf has its veins highlighted in a darker colour, and there’s a ceramic ladybug perched near its edge. I struggle with the photography part of this hobby. But today the midday sun under the shadow of the courtyard walls was just perfect

2 and 4, they remind me of hearts 💕 honourable mention to 5 for the clover ❤️
First lesson I heard, and then learned thru pain: don’t fall in love until after the final firing
Ohhhhhh I love your work!! I don’t spend much time on ig. I hope you keep posting here!! 😍
Thanks!! That’s what I was thinking. I’m going to play with the balance between the top bit and the bottom. Good starting point tho! 😃
A hand holds a small mug against a lavender background. The mug has a concave shape, wider at top and bottom than in the middle. It’s got a round badge of raised clay, the badge has the initials MG stamped in my favourite fancy font (Victorian style stone stamps) in the middle and round dots around the edge. The indents on the badge are a mid brown colour. I’ll use underglaze to get a darker colour next time. The main mug body is glazed in a turquoise colour with brown specks that ran in the firing. The husband chose the glaze combo, it’s his favourite. The glaze is very light colours at the rim where the turquoise pulled down revealing the winter wood base. I’m going to work on making that less noticeable.
Made a big and little version of this for the husband’s last birthday. He uses the big one every day 🥰
Badge: manganese wash full strength wiped back
Glazes: winter wood, power turquoise

Wish list item!! 😍
Awwww such a good boy!! 🥰
Also, that milkweed is giving me LIFE
I have a cupboard. I put disappointments into the magic cupboard and close the door. Object permanence issues mean I totally forget about them. Then, whenever I remember about the magic cupboard, I open and I’m usually happier with the results after some time has passed!
Woah. Gorgeous! 🤯
Ooooo that’s beautiful! The cup for sure, but also that glaze! Love the variation near the rim
Well done!!! I had to have my mom see me a split leg, hose-able apron because the neighbours maaaaay have been able to see me hose myself sans clothes after throwing. Sooooo messy.
Ohhh woodfiring will forever be my favourite 🤩
As a potter. May I say.. we weren’t ready for 35 YEARS of Ghost references EVERY SINGLE TIME someone learns we do pottery. It’s never died down! The only people who don’t do it are young’ns.
Oh dang. They’re mischievous little things. I hope the keepsake can be mended 💔
Early piece but still a favourite
Hahahaha I don’t make in a group space, thank goodness. Someone got in trouble locally at the guild for vaguely “adult” content. I’d be booted for sure lol
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your style!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
lol I make test tiles with a similar shape, only closed form 🤭 they let me write on the bottom and give tons of space for multi variable testing!
The bottom of a bisque fired decorative dish. It’s got a small but very noticeable S crack in it. These usually form because the walls and the bottom of the piece are different thickness, causing uneven drying. It’s a test piece, I wasn’t super careful, I’m kind of surprised it’s the only one to show this at the bisque stage. It’s my favourite though!
The top of a bisque fired decorative dish. It’s got a pattern on the flat surface made by rolling a stencil onto the centred clay on the wheel, before pulling the walls. Then I added a little rainbow with some clouds when it was leather hard. This side looks like it survived bisque firing. No way to know if that pesky S crack will go straight thru during glaze firing. We’re going to find out!
Dammit dammit dammit!
S crack. I’m going to glaze it anyway and hope it’s doesn’t go all the way thru in the glaze firing. I had been thinking of some gold too, but I think a third firing would be pushing it. Dammit!

Thank you!!

Natural light through light overcast clouds make three small rainbow dishes look very neon. They’re resting on grass in an inverted triangle arrangement and photographed from above. They were a test, so the amount of flow of the glazes varies between each dish. One has no white at the bottom of the little bowl, one has a small amount, one has a nickel sized patch of white. Lots learned, including not to try to capture this glaze combo outside in late morning overcast conditions.
Happy Pride! As always, no filter. That’s way too technical and complicated. I’d rather argue with the kiln gods. Natural light is making my rainbow dishes look neon tho and I’m not super duper happy about it.

Meanwhile I’m struggling with handle shape and think yours is beautiful!

Thank you! I was happy, I made eeEEEeeeEeEEE noises when we pulled it out of the kiln lol
Thank you! It’s worth the pain for sure
