Strangely 🤔 stops serving Business Parks, such as Ermine Business Park (on AW1 and 904 routes) aren't included despite being a small patch of muddy slabs hidden in bushes on a 3-lane 50mph road?
Nor one raised by @cbgbususers.bsky.social in a Public Question to CPCA Nov 2023.

March 2024 Transport meeting had another Public Question from @cbgbususers.bsky.social asking for
"proposed improvements in an accessible format (eg a clickable map) in an accessible place on the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority website, with the opportunity for public comment"
Whippet changes from 30th March (T1 and X1)
At rather short notice, Whippet have announced timetable changes to two of their services from Monday 30th March - the T1 (Cambridge-Huntingdon) and the X1 (Blue Arrow coach service Cambridge-Huntingdon-Peterborough). The T1 sees various changes to…
If you are a user of services 8A, 15 or 132, read on…
Three changes are coming up in the next couple of weeks. Service 8A (March to Milton Park & Ride): This service ceases to operate from 1st April. Service 15 (Haslingfield-Royston, Wednesdays only): The final journeys on this route will operate…
Is anyone paying genuine attention to what the public - and specifically bus users - are saying about the bus network in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough? Seems instead just getting consultants to create a (unpublished?) scoring system to advise what to do with allocated funding?
100% Disappointed 😞
It seems none of the changes that came in to effect (multiple operators) on 2nd of January have made it to Google Maps or Traveline, or anything that uses whatever they get their source data from.
That includes routes the Ely changes ended, the 32 that changed times, the 31 that ended for new X31.
A choice of timetables (but which one is correct?)
It's not unusual for visitors to Cambridge - and residents too - to want to visit Ely. And, for various reasons, they might prefer to do this by bus. Perhaps because of where they're starting from in Cambridge, or the distance from Ely railway…
Video from today's Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Board meeting, item 14 (direct link to this at 1h39m), where this decision was made.
CPCA, making this decision today, against the view of the Transport Committee, effectively have ignored their Bus Service Review Framework which specifically mentions Engagement, and has a whole section covering Stakeholder Engagement.

19A (to be scrapped) https://bustimes.org/services/19a-cambridge-landbeach#map
100 https://bustimes.org/services/100-cambridge-city-centre-cambridge-research-park#map
Not once has the fact that one of the routes covers around 20 bus stops that the alternative "duplicate route" doesn't cover, nor that it doesn't go to the same place (19A route).
But of course, CPCA may have found that detail if they'd have done the resident engagement that the Framework mentions.
CPCA have voted to scrap two bus routes without resident engagement.
Numbers in a report enough to base a decision on, not asking any of the passengers that use the services or those who don't use them but could do.
Transport committee had told the Board there should be resident engagement.
Support bus travel by responding to the Local Plan!
A consultation is underway on the 20-year masterplan for our area. Make sure that you have your say, especially on the needs of bus users and the importance of easy bus travel! The Greater Cambridge Draft Local Plan sets out where new homes and…
I have been working with Stagecoach for over a year to get the 4 to stop at Bourn Quarter so people don’t have to walk 10-20 minutes down a pitch black access road without a pavement.
All signed off, 140 day notice period completed, and they’ve just pulled the plug with no notice at all. Not happy.
Will be interesting to see the uptake on what should ideally be a train service but for Beeching.
An interesting idea, but only saving 20 mins on the Cambridge to Huntingdon bit and costing twice as much as the bus fare cap seems an interesting choice... Not one I think I'll be taking that often.
A Cambridge-Huntingdon-Peterborough coach service from Monday 26th January
Short-distance coach services are a relatively rare phenomenon, but Monday 26th January will see the launch of a new example in our area from Whippet. The service, branded Blue Arrow X1, will link Cambridge, Huntingdon and…
Biggleswade/Cambridge route (re-)launched
"A change is as good as a rest" - a phrase that has gained some traction since it was first printed in the mid-19th century. But bus passengers might wonder if the enthusiasm for new timetables and routes at the beginning of January (even if some of the…
New Busway timetable from 4th January
Although Stagecoach East withdrew those timetable changes due on 4th January that had been announced as part of a series of updates due over the first two months of the year, one change that hadn't been very widely advertised was to the Busway services, and…
Stagecoach changes WITHDRAWN
The Stagecoach changes due to be introduced on 4th January 2026 have been WITHDRAWN. The existing timetables will continue for the time being.
Saturday changes on Whippet X3 and 66 from 10th January
Whippet are making changes to Saturday timings on routes 66 and X3 with effect from 10th January. They cite the need to allow additional time on most journeys due to the volume of traffic those services are encountering. This isn't the first…
Stagecoach changes from 4th January
Stagecoach are making a number of minor alterations to services from Sunday 4th January 2026. The changes fall into three categories. There are minor timetable adjustments on the 1 (only for journeys towards Fulbourn), 6 (0840 from Emmanuel Street operates 5…

Changes are being introduced to some services in the Ely area from 2nd January 2026. Service 9 (Cambridge-Ely-Littleport). On part of this route, the number of daily journeys is being reduced - from six to five in both directions between Cambridge and Ely,…

Flagfinders’ service 19 changes from 22nd December
In the south-east corner of the county, and running into Suffolk, service 19 provides a direct link from a number of villages to Haverhill. And, by changing buses at Linton, into Cambridge. The service has had a number of operators in recent years…
Speaking up for bus users at Council meetings
High up the ‘to-do’ list of the Cambridge Area Bus Users Executive Committee is to take steps to bring the needs of bus users to the attention of our local politicians. With this in mind, we have resolved to ask public questions at local council…
Angsty story about the dangers of escooters on BBC Breakfast right now. Horrific stuff. But you wait until these folk hear about these newfangled killers called cars.
Why can't every commercial bus company market their services like this? (And like Alex did at Transdev Blazefield Harrogate Bus Cº) Don't they want increased ridership and revenue?
