just found out that an agency in Florida is deploying ford SUVs for its paratransit. i dunno about you, but this just feels incorrect.

no idea; this bus usually doesn’t charge during its layover up here. however according to Van Hool’s NA distributor, it has a charge time of 5 hours from 125 kW

congrats on your hit-tweet-by-proxy

wearing the same outfit as i wore in redmond; if you see me about feel free to say hi
in just a few short minutes, I can stop being rage baited by my local station standing but not operating
the service changes coming with crosslake will result in every bus route being removed from the I-90 floating bridge. except for this one.
I didn’t know that Ben Franklin Transit has a pride bus
Mark my words, I will complete the rest of the journey some other time, preferably when route 102 can run consistently. Until next adventure, I bid y’all adieu!
No P4P signage here at Three Rivers TC, but there are two vacant bays, so I’m assuming they board here. Two takeaways here:
1. The local transit network got me from one extreme of Washington to the other, and that’s commendable.
2. Give P4P more resources and/or less work!
BUS 19:
Ben Franklin Transit 123
Fare: $1.50 (Total: $27.05)
I was planning on taking this anyway to reach my hotel for the night, but because the challenge is impossible now, I decided to go to where I would have transferred to the 102.
BUS 18:
Ben Franklin Transit 170
Fare: $1.50 (Total: $25.55)
This was the bus BEFORE the one I was scheduled to take! For whatever reason, it was still there when we arrived at Prosser.

(it’s a teapot)
BUS 17:
People for People 200
Fare: Free (Donations accepted!)
Welp, my next trip is going to be on the agency that single-handedly caused me to ‘fail’ this adventure.
The fact that this minibus ride was the FIRST TIME ALL TRIP that I lost cell service is a miracle of modern technology.
Operator who hasn’t spoken a word blasting the radio, rules and regs plastered across the bus, and every seat in the back taken by a passenger, backpack, or a dog.
Peak rural minibus experience.
“BUS” 16:
Pahto Public Passage P/P Route
Fare: Free
Still, getting from Bellingham to the Tri-Cities using only local public transit is a big achievement! Here’s hoping People for People gets over their driver shortage and that more counties in the east of the state establish PTBAs and not have to rely on nonprofits for transit.
Unfortunately, I found out on the bus to Goldendale that People for People route 102 will not be running at all tomorrow. That, plus the Special Mobility Services route (and corresponding P4P route) only running T/Th has forced me to end the trip early, in the Tri-Cities.
Here’s Wishram, WA: The least used Amtrak station in Washington State. Knowing my editing speed, it’s tough to say whether my video or @milesintransit.com’s Least Used video will come out first, and I don’t think Miles has even visited the station yet!
BUS 15:
MATS Goldendale/The Dalles
Fare: Free
Indeed, I am!
shush
yeah this is just confusing for first-time riders. this agency has placed signs all over town promoting its fixed route and dial a ride service, which are different and distinct from its bus stops. people would assume these -are- the bus stops until finding out the hard way.
