But they need your money so they can take rich people on vacation so the rich people will then give them money for more vacations!

My thing is always feeling it start to run out faster than expected while I’m still being worked on, and having to guess if we’re close enough to being done to be worth asking for more.
If Janeway was in LOTR, she’d take the ring from Frodo in Lothlorien and become a queen, not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Tempestuous as the sea, and stronger than the cup of black coffee that you’d better already be bringing her right damn now! All shall love her and despair!
@jessiegender.bsky.social’s channel has consistently excellent analysis along these lines, if you’re interested.
Yeah, it’s no coincidence that the people who I’ve left spaces to get away from were pretty much all Critical Drinker fans.
I can’t think of anything that speaks to the current state of the conservative politics masquerading as ‘Christianity’ better than posting this on Easter. 10/10 dystopia. No notes.
So far, it seems like the secret to running things smoothly is just to make the day shift stay unpaid and do a bunch of extra work.
Do you think anyone bothered to warn Trump that he’s giving his bullshit victory speech on April Fools Day?
Fix your hearts or die.
Neither he nor Mills is close to being my ideal candidate. Platner’s the riskier option, I tend to be risk averse. Saying why I don’t think I’d vote for him isn’t the same as saying that he, or the people who support him, are Nazis or whatever.
But you’re right that I know people like this. I love and appreciate them, but I also wouldn’t vote for them for Senate. I worry that he’s vulnerable to being swayed by right wing arguments and how that plays out in a brain rot cesspool like DC.
Except the Valhalla VFT thing was only a few months ago.
Look, I get that Platner’s views have evolved. I even think he’s fully sincere in the moment, not that he’s some secret undercover Nazi or whatever. I even agree with a lot of stuff he says now more than Mills.
My bad. Valhalla was the podcast. He “only” reposted Stew Peters. Had them reversed in my head. Still, my point stands. Multiple examples of him being alarmingly vulnerable to clear far right influences when they aren’t very clearly signposted. Not ideal for a senator, especially now.
Because he has a long, documented history of being vulnerable to manipulation by conservatives and far right actors when they present in a ‘polite’ way? Which is how he ended up with a Nazi tattoo and being a ‘longtime fan’ of Stew Peters.
Yeah, because I’m sure Gavin doesn’t wear any makeup for TV appearances. Congrats, y’all know how to sound like middle school bullies.
Can we PLEASE get past acting like this playground-tier “Ha ha you’re gay!” shit is clever or helpful? Not that I expect Gavin “same sex marriage isn’t culturally normal” Newsom or his team to give a shit.
In the theater, waiting for the hubby’s first time seeing Return of the King! I’ve been trying to give LOTR a chance for a decade and I finally got him. This is how you win at marriage, folks.
I was really hoping Skattebo would just be “fun Gronk” dumb, but alas it seems he’s more “future GOP senator from Alabama” dumb.
I have a D&D character I’ve been playing for years who was in part inspired by how my ‘accents’ tend to converge into a generic ‘exotic’ accent.
Kurros, from the Voyager episode Think Tank. All those weird pseudo-futurist emails have his stink all over it.

Don’t worry, Hegseth used ChatGPT to develop top secret anti-mine technology.
“A Wired report revealed that he is being paid over $120,500 annually—a salary equivalent to that of a federal worker with 13 years of service—despite his limited public-sector experience.”

This is Nathan Cavanaugh, another DOGE staffer explaining how he flagged grants at NEH for "DEI" which would be reviewed for termination. 404 Media has reviewed hours of this footage and we'll have more soon.

For all my cynicism, somehow I still end up surprised and disappointed when a company betrays its core values like this for no reason. Great job, @alamodrafthouse.bsky.social. It was nice having a theater I actually liked while it lasted.
I really hope the show keeps this up, because I can’t wait to see how they try to tackle the scale of something like Enies Lobby or Marineford.
ONE PIECE: INTO THE GRAND LINE… how is this so good? It defies all ‘conventional’ wisdom and embraces every bit of the source’s over the top cartoonishness with sincerity and joy instead of being ashamed of itself. And it makes smart choices in adapting the overarching plot.
Isn’t it more reasonable at this point to look at the party who lost an election and say that the people tried to warn THEM? Warn them that their policies, tactics, and playbook would cost them votes and the election?
Because it did, it has, and now here we are. They tried to warn them.
I usually thing about it in terms of the roles I think I would most enjoy playing, so…
Hamlet (Hamlet)
Richard III (Richard III)
Othello (Iago)
Twelfth Night (Malvolio)
King Lear (Edmund)
Let me be very clear: if you can listen to the things Rogan says here without throwing up or having a rage-stroke, lose my number.
Also, he’s far from perfect here but major credit to Steve O for actually listening to a trans person’s story.
There’s a real opportunity for it to flourish too, with no Trek currently greenlit/in production after Starfleet Academy S2 and the remainder of SNW.
