Actually exactly like recipe.exchange, but I really do think cooklang could do wonders. Especially if using it with cook.md to automatically add it π

@cooklang.bsky.social any plans on adding custom lexicons? I'd love to store and find recipes using atproto π
Kinda like @bookhive.buzz does for books π
I hope this makes sense, it's weird having to write threads to include enough context like this - especially on mobile, I guess π
However, it is still stealing no matter how you look at it. Getting a crawler to parse the site, so you can get the content without paying them - or looking at awful ads π
That said, I LOVE cook.md, it's honestly what the web needed. Especially with the federated version. Can't wait to spin up my own and help broaden the free(er) recipe space π«Ά
And it is sad that 402 hits this kind of work.
But having a protocol that gives providers small payments for crawlers getting access to their content, while still getting paid is great!
I do also agree, it's sad it has come to this, but you can't argue with billion dollar companies π₯²
Others are subscription based and thus pay-walled. Plenty of news sites are doing it, keeping knowledge away from the world, unless they pay. All because people started using ad-blockers.
Indeed a game of cat and mouse π
So of course, having a protocol to stop bots from this, is, in my humble opinion, good.
Sadly the whole "the web is free" is a lie - just like the cake! So many sites are bloated with ads, some to the point of making them unreadable.
Even though it wasn't used a lot, it was always useful: developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...
And given we're in the age of AI and laziness, I'd say it's the perfect time to revive it β¨
When the whole AI training started, lots got mad that crawlers stole from them, which I agree with
I'll respond here, at the end of the thread.
As you said, it's old. However, it wasn't unused, not one of the most used responses, yeah, but still used π I'd argue it's what most paywalls should've used, but who cares about being proper RESTful π₯²
For 402 and now...
Good to know. I was thinking about switching to Zed now that it has matured more since I last used it π₯²
Welp, seems I'll stay with the Jetbrains for a bit more time π«‘
Best wishes from Max & Leo in front of their own lil' Christmas tree π Days will be better π€
I fixed Red Bull, so they can use their old slogan again ππ
Oh. Now I'm disappointed π I wanted a map to look at π
What's conductor? π
It's a pretty awful name to Google for π Found three different apps so far - I need help
@pfrazee.com happy bsky bday! π
Because of these fancy labelers I can call people out ππ
Usually my brain. However, when that one fails, I go for Copilot because my employee pays for it already π
Chiming in here. Has it been two weeks yet? ππ
To be fair. Lots of the ones that do what Ookla Speed test does, are using Ookla as their API. So it's probably a bit of a gray area. Especially since they can argue it's okay for them to tag with Ookla ππ
However, I think only Ookla self has the power to stop any of these, sadly
Same here. I'm so confused by everything π
Thank you for listening to the people π
In short - because I honestly don't think you know the #dk constitution, again, as our elected politicians:
> Section 72 of the Constitution ensures the inviolability of the home and protects privacy against intrusions like searches or wiretapping without a court order.
First of all, shame on you.
Second, please make sure y'all (as our people elected politicians), read up on Grundlov Β§72 - link because I know you don't know how to computer: www.ft.dk/da/dokumente...
Dearest #dkpol, especially those of you in favor of the awful privacy breaking #Chatcontrol2 (as well as #chatcobntrol in general).
@bobdahacker.com Hey, what happened to the monster blog post? π I shared it with a friend and now it's gone π
