Also. Willing to bet you don’t have that issue with Minthara. We All Know the real reason

Deeply funny when someone claims to hate Astarion “because he’s the evil character”
As if they didn’t do away with the alignment system On Purpose because it leads to reductive storytelling
I’ve also heard that this game would’ve been better as a new setting fantasy game, but I disagree there too. The issues I have id also have with a different fantasy game. It’s trying to be so many other games that simply did that thing better
A combat system that is entirely divorced from the series’ tabletop rpg roots, as party members are reduced to environmental set pieces you can occasionally bounce an attack off of. “Unique” explosions with each of them that all seem to be a variation of the same general attack.
from inquisition’s system because they’re void of the level of customization we got there. The most unique weapons with lore attached to them felt useless due to their drawbacks.
Final fantasy-esque skill trees that completely lacked abilities we like seeing in dragon age—because they’re rooted in lore. Huge skill trees full of disembodied moves and abilities that have nothing to do with dragon age. Weapon and armor upgrades that feel like a downgrade
or the progression of the narrative the way it is in the Jedi games. You’re not uncovering a deeper part of the map, revealing a pocket of story or lore. You’re just revisiting to solve a puzzle and complete an objective, a puzzle which largely exists to make the level take longer to complete.
It’s a bland implementation of Jedi Fallen Order’s exploration mechanics—bland to me bc you’re forced to re-explore the same areas over and over with nothing really new being revealed with these re-examinations. The environment, with very little exception, isn’t changing based on your actions
Interesting that I think I’m rather alone in thinking vg’s gameplay was *also* a letdown.
It just wasn’t dragon age. It was a bunch of other games’ gameplay in a trench coat and nothing of the series’ original concepts seemed to survive beyond the three class system, and even that lost its flavor
Insufferable fr. Like your thing in peace and let the people who don’t talk about it in their own corner
The MCU’s impact on dialogue writing was detrimental actually
Immensely enjoying the fallout show, and it’s done the job of making me wish I could play the games and get more context for the world being explored here
Also wish the writing team didn’t feeling the need to insert so many damn one liners
I’m talking about posts dedicated to “hey what do you do to maintain your love for the series bc I’m actually really heartbroken about disliking this game?”
And all the comments in the thread are downvoted. Man if this thread isn’t for you then leave!!
Insane actually the way people go through and mass downvote comments of people respectfully voicing their dislike of vg in the dragon age Reddit forum
Oh hey bluesky’s back online. For now
I bring a sort of Forbidden Vibe to InternalServerError that Rate Limit Exceeded don't really like
trying to post through it rn
Lmao
Blank Bluesky feed
Hi I'm Bluesky, I love AI code and dropping a cartoon anvil on my head that causes a tall lump to spontaneously form and birds to circle my head
Was wondering why bluesky seemed to be sucking more lately.
Guess I know why
we know
Golden hour
BLUESKY IS A WEBSITE THAT TURNS (post by jay.bsky.team claiming that bluesky is made with AI) INTO (picture of bluesky not working)
The interpretation of Luke that he’s constantly teetering on that edge is also even more damning of TLJ’s portrayal of him.
You’re telling me after 40 years, after going through all he’s been through, he’s at the *exact same* emotional place he was in before? That’s boring as hell
but because he’s nervous about violence. He’s not defaulting to violence, it’s presented as his only option and he’s too scared to touch it
He’s more in danger of being killed trying to save people from the dark side than he is in danger of joining them. There are of course flashes where we see Luke nervous that any one violent action will tip him over into being evil—which is significant not because he chooses peace
Seeing an interpretation of Luke that’s essentially every appearance he has after ESB is “can he avoid becoming Darth Vader” and while that’s not *not* present on screen, it’s also not a real danger to him? And I don’t just say that because I know how the story ends
Brought to you by me being amazed at how cute my dog looks walking around carrying her treat
It’s so damn cute to see an animal trotting into a room with something in its mouth
For reference: I had a baby mullet last week and have a dramatic close shaved undercut this week. Pretty different looks!
Again, not fishing for one or needing one—but it’s an interesting observation about what is and isn’t gendered to straight people
