A little bit of personalisation on our XC60 today. Firstly I fitted matt chrome mirror caps, similar to the R-Design ones. It’s surprising how much that change alone lightens the car. Then as our shifter knob had cracked I also fitted a Polestar performance one as ours has the Polestar Optimisation

I clocked a £7 charge last year because I took a wrong turn trying to find the services and drove through the area. Didn’t even stop. £7 just because I took a wrong turn. No way to appeal. Was told it was common as signage isn’t clear. It’s not environmental friendly it’s pure greed.
£18bn needed to fix England and Wales potholes.
Tory austerity has left us with dangerous roads.
Motorists bear the wasteful cost of punctured tyres, damaged steering and other parts.
Spend the money, improve infrastructure, stimulate the economy.
It’s up to all of us to now step up and call this absolute bull**** out
Once upon a time I was expected to know the lives of patients and plan their discharges at admission with them. My recent stay in hospital as a patient showed this doesn’t happen. Very little information was taken on admission & across all my stay I saw a nurse once. I had more rapport with cleaners
This won’t address staff retention and shows Streetings lack of understanding of the true pressure on providers. I don’t recognise the today’s NHS anymore. Whilst there have been amazing developments in medics and surgery in the 40 years I was part of it, the time nurses have to care, has decreased
But a small number got an instant pay rise and faster progression. Those who stayed on a D grade were utterly demoralised and a number left to private providers, their posts never filled. I’d like to be proved wrong, but I suspect the same will happen again.
I remember when banding came in, especially difficult for staff nurses as we were summoned to Matrons office to simply be told if we were a Band D or E. It was utterly arbitrary. There was no sense about who was given one grade or the other. JDs didn’t change.
Stand with the real Boss

Tuesday was not the best of days as a van driver drove into our car before being abusive and driving off without exchanging any details. Turned out his van wasn’t MOT’d or taxed, not insured. The damage doesn’t look too bad on the surface, but the tow bar is now bent. Police and insurance aware
I can’t get my head around who would think making this was a good financial decision, let alone who the feck would pay to see this drivel!
pleadse note!
I've recorded almost 400 attacks on science over the last year (and that doesn't even include the attacks on universities)!

they've slowed down over recent months but only because I think they've achieved a lot of what they want to already :-(
Cost of living has exploded in the US.
“GDP per capita, adjusted for differences in the cost of living, has increased by 70% in the United States since 1990, compared to 63% in the EU-27.”
The tale of US “economic advantage” is based on some key myths…
Happy EPSTEIN Files Release Day Eve for all those who celebrate!!! 👍
New peer-reviewed paper by me, @sheencr.bsky.social and @martinmckee.bsky.social about effective communication and public engagement around infectious diseases and vaccines.

I know not everyone can afford this and don’t understand how I can be a priority for flu vaccine but not Covid… after all it’s not like it “went away”. Anyone would think it was more to do with cost than risk!
Thank you as always for your approach and considered words. I’ve been diagnosed with ME/CFS as a result of long COVID from two infections that progressively made the symptoms worse. I don’t qualify for the vaccine but have decided to pay for it so I reduce my risks of further deterioration 1/2
Wes Streeting insists that NHS health records are not for sale.
But handing them to a company like Palantir shatters any chance of public trust ⬇️

Our replacement Volvo is coming along. We’ve a few issues with failed sensors but hopefully are getting through the repairs and into the upgrades. We’ve added a few accessories to make touring duties easier & now had the 20” Cratus refurbished. The 18” Pans will be back for winter soon #volvoxc60
NHS Admin are a valuable part of the team, without them clinical systems grind to a halt. They schedule lists, book appointments, chase contractors, equipment & orders. They are the unseen & often unthanked backbone of the service. To my former colleagues, once again going through this, stay strong
I worked with care home staff and still can’t forgive the government or the businesses that profited from the misery, injury and death the poor or none existent PPE caused. They should all be made to pay back the money and publicly apologise to those affected
Just because it’s been a while, here’s Lily enjoying her new Ikea pet bed #catsofbluesky
Final changes to our #evoque involved fitting a full set of #climair wind deflectors. Next duty is hauling our caravan for our autumn holiday 😊
Picture of Zelenskyy & Trump in White House with surprising amount of new gold decor on walls and mantle piece.

Golden doors in Grand Kremlin Palace
The White House is slowly, like a disease of gold, morphing into the Grand Kremlin Palace….
How our #Evoque journey started and where it’s got to. It is now very much where I hoped it would be… but… there is always the potential for mechanical gremlins in these 😬🤞🏻
Anti-Trump protestors on Sky News,
"We should not be opening Scotland or the UK to somebody with Trump's background"
"Trump is an abhorrent human being with no saving graces"
Just going to leave this here:
I love the Scots.
Over the last week there’s been quite a lot of cosmetic tinkering on the #Evoque moving away from the Brunel silver trim to gloss black. The final change was to swap body coloured mirror caps the gloss black, leaving the remaining silver below the swage line
A little cosmetic change to the #evoque The fog light blanks were removed and replaced with functional DRLs
