How would I like to receive my one-time code? Man I'd like to be in a fucking glade on a temperate spring day
data centers: less popular than nazis
Meanwhile in Aotearoa.
AI is profoundly unpopular. A recent NBC News poll found that among 18-34 year-olds, AI's net favorability rating is -44. *Negative 44*. Those are basically serial killer numbers. It's not much better among women 18-49. (Men over 50 and upper class are the only ones who like AI, and just barely.)
Conducted by a leading vaporiser company, but still quite useful. Also contains a truly terrible graph, but I guess you get that when your data spans an order of magnitude (ie: if they presented vape byproducts to the same scale as smoking byproducts you wouldn't be able to see them on the graph).
The top part of the Moon is illuminated. The gray cratered surface stands out against the blackness of space. The Earth appears in the far distance as an upside-down crescent moon shape. There is some lens flare in the top part and center of the image. Credit: NASA
okay i change my mind, THIS is one of the best and most beautiful images from artemis ii
A screenshot of a Facebook post by CBS 2 Boise. The post text reads: "A new state law required the City of Boise to take down the Pride flag outside City Hall. Tuesday morning, the City wrapped flag poles in Pride colors and added a new sign to the window on City Hall. CBS2 reached out to the Mayor and Governor’s office for comment." Below the text is a collage of three photos showing these updates: Left: A tall metallic flagpole in a plaza at night, with its lower section wrapped in horizontal stripes matching the colors of the Progress Pride flag (black, brown, light blue, pink, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). Top Right: A closer view of a flagpole base, also wrapped in horizontal Progress Pride flag colors. Bottom Right: A large window on City Hall featuring a graphic with diagonal stripes in the Progress Pride colors alongside the text, "Creating a city for everyone."
Oh, this is good. Idaho passed a bill banning local cities from flying the Pride flag. So the cities decided to wrap the poles themselves in pride colors.
This is amazing.
It is good that the entire US economy comes with the same disclaimer as horoscopes
Wikipedia now has higher standards than all universities
"AI cannot coexist with education--it can only degrade it"
YES OMG YES
Straight-up barefaced bullshit from the police here. There is no way a 50% increase in cannabis possession charges in the last two years simply reflects a commensurate increase in use. Apart from anything else, cannabis is not part of national wastewater sampling. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/cannabis-...
I think announcing you've got $350 million dollars of taxpayer money just for the fuel companies who've jacked the price up by at least a dollar in the last month, while insisting the fuel supply is fine and good, takes the fucking piss out of everyone doing it tough to be honest with you lads.
*cries in Aotearoan*
look at this baby beaver and feel better briefly

This is an excellent summary of the US War on Iran current situation.
I’m an existentialist and borderline absurdist and even I struggle with the current moment.
This summary is just fantastic.
the human body was not designed to know what the worst person in the world is doing every fifteen minutes
It's only force majeure if it comes from the Majeure region of France. Otherwise it's just a sparkling shitshow.
Life with dogs. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
We live in the weirdest fucking timeline where the Catholic Church is significantly to the left of the vast majority of world governments
Repeat after me: the more you feel the need for media to explicitly tell you who's good and who's the villain, how to behave and how to love, the more you expect it to give you answers instead of making you think and ask questions, the more vulnerable you are to all kinds of propaganda.
"They organized, mobilized, and formed labor movements that endure to this day..."
Also, I'm not sure I've ever seen a piece of political communication like this.
Not only is the government not acting on the advice of health officials in preparing for a future pandemic (which I only mention because they have been attacking others with claims of) they are making us worse prepared by pandering to the 4% WHO conspiracy theorists in NZ and their offshore allies
wow we are arriving at the exact situation every single person imagined within one second of seeing their first robot dog
Elon Musk is acting like “talking about your feelings” is weak and unnecessary while he simultaneously uses his account with 230 million followers on the platform he owns to post about his feelings like a 14 year old emo kid on MySpace in 2009
Staggering just how quickly using LLMs in place of thinking makes you worse at thinking.
every time I see "Trump announces" in a headline then I go and see it's a social media post he made, a part of me dies I did not know could still die
Straight of Hormuz, with Buddha imposed, text: The realization that the lack of oil isn't causing your suffering, but the desire for oil itself, on your path to enlightenment.
Possible solution to the Strait of Hormuz?
Oh god this made me laugh so hard. Watch til the end.
