This was such a fun time! I was excited to talk with Jeff and do some character creation and world-building for Defy the Gods. Look for our conversation on his Patreon!

“Defy the Gods” by @hecticelectron.bsky.social, distributed by @plusoneexp.bsky.social, just arrived in the mail.
It is a beautiful hardcover edition, filled with gorgeous illustrations by various artists, intriguing playbooks, and a detailed setting for a fantasy ancient Mesopotamian world.
Thank you Camilla! I’m so glad you like it. I’d love to hear how it goes at your table!
We're interviewing Chrys from @hecticelectron.bsky.social and talking about her newest Queer Sword and Sorcery game, "Defy the Gods"! This is on @emmerron.bsky.social 's Twitch Channel!

Chrys is the writer of Defy the Gods, which we took a look at last month, and this is a great way to learn more about the game from them directly!
Hooray! So excited to see this landing with backers. If you backed Defy the Gods and haven't gotten your book yet, it's coming!

Have a bouquet of snakes! Mad Dungeon just dropped an episode where I talk about Defy the Gods and Raccoon Sky Pirates – www.buzzsprout.com/1653667/epis...
There's more racoon chaos coming?? Racoon Sky Pirates had everyone at our table laughing until it hurt, and scrambling to protect our little guys as much as we could!
Be sure to slap that follow button as hard as your phone allows to find out more about this upcoming version!
Game entitled "Raccoon Sky Pirates" featuring a very stressed out Raccoon on the cover.
This guy has seen some shit.
This spring, Raccoon Sky Pirates is coming back! The Total Chaos Edition has hex tiles, poker chips, bottle caps, a Dumpster-fire meeple ... everything you need to play and replay, with smoother, faster gameplay & MOAR CHAOS. Check out www.kickstarter.com/projects/hec... to sign up for the launch!

#7) Raccoon Sky Pirates by @hecticelectron.bsky.social
When we tell you that we have NEVER laughed this hard, we're serious. Running through the starter session, everyone at the table was laughing till it hurt, while really really caring about our trash-cobbled space ship. You NEED to play it.
Raccoon Sky Pirates is coming back! The Total Chaos edition has bottle caps, a Dumpster fire meeple, custom house maps, portrait cards to visualize your animal, 6 raccoon dice & a bunch more components stolen from other games. Sign up at www.kickstarter.com/projects/hec... to hear when it goes live
Anyway, I made an RPG, out soon. You can get the 80-page quick start here for pay what you want: hecticelectron.itch.io/defy-the-gods
If William Morris were alive today, he’d be making TTRPGs
Instead of looking cinematic or sleek, I want to showcase individual voices & aesthetics. Emphasize the human touch & physical media. Be the small-batch bourbon (or potato chips) of leisure time
As our taboo against AI use erodes, anyone will be able to make a game with the production values of Call of Cthulhu, the Dune RPG, or the Blade Runner RPG. I’d prefer to zero in on the human expression
Tabletop RPGs are time-intensive but poetic uses of our time. I don’t want to imitate the spectacle of video games or movies; people already have those
I like to make professional-looking things, as anyone who’s seen Defy the Gods can attest. But the brushstrokes are beautiful; a well-drawn line is beautiful. I want to elevate them. I think more & more people will pay a premium to see them
As AI laces itself through every runnel of society, I’m increasingly grateful for the artisanal, hand-crafted quality of tabletop RPGs; both the books and the experience at the table
We're looking for GMs to help out Hectic Electron run Defy the Gods at Origins. Since late event submission ends April 5th, this is time sensitive. I've played the game and it's a fun time intended to be queer sword and sorcery with messy romance in Mesopotamia!
Defy the Gods at Gen Con!

Edit of Fantomah comic from the 40s. At first she has a skull face and big arms, then a blank face, finally a woman's face flying in an aura of light. The text is: The raging Fantomah appears. She says You will pay a dreadful penalty! In her rage she begins to transform. She says Your time has arrived! Then the change is completed.
