One of the highlights of my trip to Japan was going to Magayura in Noda. Five hours of amazing, weird, experimental music and performances. Loved that I had a clear view out to the train platform - people just going about their lives - while all this weird shit was happening in this little room.

A picture taken out side the Omega shop in Shinsaibashi. A clock tells the time is 4.55 pm. A woman in silhouette runs beneath the sign.
five o'clock appointment
Wandering around Northbridge I stumbled across the new-to-me secondhand bookstore, Mainly Books. Fantastic range and super chill and relaxed vibe. Forced myself to stop at seven.

My current level of exhaustedness is evident by not only buying a tub of premade "carbonara" sauce on the way home but also precut mushrooms to mix with it.
pre - cut - mushrooms!
Way back when I saw ads for Final Fantasy 7 on TV I thought to myself: How can it be the final fantasy when this is part seven?
I thought i was soooo clever.
nytimes reporting in many areas is problematic - but i'm still pleased to see that their "seems to contradict" has moved to a clear "contradicts".
I was surprised at how few KR films I'd seen before 2025 - ended up watching six of them
It's so fun and informative to try to copy a work of art you enjoy, in the same medium, a different one, whatever. I wish everyone who does not identify as an artist would try this without concern for "being good." or doing it "right."

☀️ It’s gonna be a hot few days in Perth!
💧If it’s hot where you are too, please leave out cool, fresh water for the wildlife in your garden.
Like this mumma roo in our garden yesterday, the birds, animals and inverts will all be very grateful for it!

The new Kelly Reichardt film, The Mastermind, opened in Australia this week - everywhere except Western Australia. It's hard for me to not take this personally.
Am I the only one who finds pictures of meat being handled by people wearing black gloves kind of gross?
BTW, it's not the meat I find gross - it's the gloves.
According to my wide open eyes, green tea contains a non-negligible amount of caffeine - who knew?

ninety-nine point nine percent of the time tomato sauce is an unwelcome addition to any plate - except when having a meat pie, when it is absolutely essential

Thanks so much for reviewing this. Had no idea it existed till I saw your review and it is very very much my cup of tea.
Discover a singer on Wednesday. Go to their show on Thursday. Get blown away.
That's how I got into Ruby Gill. Excellent stage presence - full of humour and stillness.
Things sometimes get weird at the under-construction house next door.
At my first pub show in ages. In the only guy without a moustache. Haircuts have a heavy Mr Collin’s in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice energy.
