A black & white photograph of a pathway in a forest.

There's a large dark tree on the left, looming over the edge and around the image, while lighter tones and smaller trees surround the rest of the image.

For some fancy effect, there are some focus blurred leaves in the image too, to show the effect of depth.

I took up the old ways of making photographs about three years ago.

Last year, I built myself a camera. This year, I built myself a darkroom. Except for a final scan of the print so that I can show it to you, no computers were involved to make this image.

I'm so glad that the old ways still work.

If we can embed WASM into an LLM, and we can embed SQLite into WASM[1]... are you thinking what I'm thinking?

But yeah, there is still every chance that exactly the same crimes can be committed against British women and children, they’ll just now have no direct evidence that it’s happened.

Musk is fighting hard to keep CSAM and exploitative material on Twitter. That’s the story.

I saw all these dates in the log reading "Jan 01" and momentarily thought the system clock was broken lol

Okay, I will preface this with the GIGANTIC disclaimer that I promise I know how this looks, and I *swear* this is not personally motivated: If you have an old #LiveJournal account, and it has things you still care about in it, download it or import it to Dreamwidth SOON. Details:

the weirdest thing I think that's happened is KF has become *irrelevant*.

people don't have to go there any more to be unapologetically racist or antisemitic or islamophobic or transphobic. there are a myriad of other much more mainstream places they can do that now.

If Trump wants to see elections in Ukraine, all he has to do is use the power he keeps talking about to get the Russian invaders off Ukrainian soil. Then martial law in Ukraine ends, and elections will follow.

What I really like about the metaverse experience, is that everything I know about it, I have read.

On 2D screens, using text.

Correct. If the birthdate field contains corrupt or mismatched data, it defaults to 1875-05-20, which serves as a flag. May 20, 1875, is the day the international standards and metrics treaty was signed. Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything works.

I wonder what our options are for smooshing together yt-dlp, transcripts and an rss feed that doesn't strip sponsor links/patreon content.

Even amongst a small group of friends, I'm sure that there's plenty of cachability for storage not to be a problem.

I think the rules let us block more than one. We can definitely make a list.

The End of Term Archive team @eotarchive.org crawled millions of federal webpages! If you are worried about a page going down or changing information on it, you can check to see if it is saved in the Internet Archive's @waybackmachine.bsky.social. 1/2

This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942.

I know. I was there in those camps.

Ignore the firings and deportations... it'll probably work because there'd be no more Americans

I spent most of a decade traveling to authoritarian countries and teaching people how to circumvent internet censorship. I am appalled that this is now something I have to do in the US.

I'm not questioning why you have over a hundred.

I'm questioning how... far above a hundred 🧐

Enron logo<br>The information on the website is first amendment protected parody, represents performance art, and is for entertainment purposes only

for those of you who've seen the supposed Enron relaunch and crypto project: their website's terms of use say it's parody.

tl;dr apparently someone thinks it's a good and funny idea to make a big joke out of a company that ruined people, and this is about as much oxygen as i'm inclined to give it
