After adding different modes to Swarm Me, I realized something interesting.
Same swarm. Same arena.
But small rule changes completely shift how you survive.
What works in one mode can actually get you killed in another.

Same swarm. 4 completely different ways to play it.

Weapons with ammo drops. Ammo = health. No-weapons. Hardcore pressure.

Same tools. Completely different decisions.

I thought about features and the best way for me is to ignore all until I finish core game - then I am in a better position to make such decisions. Of course there are exceptions, like if something doesn't work as planned or has to be changed/added, but in general I try to not add anything unplanned

Players asked for a classic weapons mode in 'Swarm Me', so we’re building it.

Oh yeah, mix of so many different emotions when something good, bad or completely unexpected happens, sometimes it is very stressful, but if player has fun then it is an ultimate entertainment for me :)
And often they will break things or find new ways to play that I never even thought possible.

When something is painfully obvious to me and painfully foreign to player :)
Sometimes I feel like I need to put big 3D signs on turrets for players to start using them and don't waste their health shooting (in one game mode player's health=ammo, so shooting non stop is not a good idea).

What I love most about gamedev?

Watching someone play my game.
Seeing where they struggle, what they get, what they love… or hate. It’s weirdly addictive.

After a full weekend of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, I went outside, saw flowers…walked straight at them expecting a “collect” prompt. Nothing.
Took a moment before my brain rebooted from Tamriel back to reality.

If you have time try Playtest on steam - just released a test build where ammo is a drop and not your health, so now you can shoot and regen at the same time, just need to figure out ammo drop balance, so would appreciate any feedback :)

We did fix Laser Turret direction - when you approach laser turret now you will see a line pointing where it will fire, let me know if that feels better :)
Is there any way to see your stream VOD?
I am always up to watch others play my game, it helps to understand where my designs failed :)
