@oshwassociation.bsky.social I have a ticket for the OSHWA summit in May, but due to logistics around my resident permit renewal, I cannot attend.
Is there a way to donate the paid-for ticket to someone who needs it?

Kinda like Mac’s fusion drives. The performance uplift was really good for the time.

"Back in my day" RAM disks on PCIE were all the rage. Before SATA drives, and before NVME was a thing.
Using only the inner portion of a large HHD was also a trick some folks used to get fast speeds.
Neither option was affordable.

This looks infinitely better, and probably about the same price 😅

Yeah, M1 lacks power and NB-IoT lacks bandwidth. We recently launched a Cat 1 SKU and the performance difference is staggering.

Battery life is the only drawback, but those applications are the minority.

The test reports conveniently left out the weight.
They claim to have defied physics, yet when asked to show proof they just 🤷‍♂️

Overclocking Raspberry Pi Pico 2 Adventures with dry ice and RP2350 - how fast can it go? – Pimoroni Learning Portal

The madlads at @pimoroni.com overclocked an RP2350 microcontroller from the base clock of 150 Mhz to a whopping 861.6 MHz.

It looks like 400-500 MHz can be stable on most Pico 2s, which is still wild.

Ah, I meant more side to side movement perpendicular to the length. Since each Length does not live in the same plane it “feels” like it would be wobbly.
I should get my hands on one the next time in Germany!

I‘ve never seen one for sale in multiple countries, so it’s a mystery to me.
How do you handle the flex introduced by the multiple joints?

In 2001/2 my dad bought a NiMH battery drill. It was wonderful; for about 5 seconds.

Today you can run a LiPo drill for a couple of months between charges.

I laughed way harder than I should at this one. My kids looked at me like I was crazy!

Oh, it's hopeless to compare - and never fair on yourself. Social media paints a very flattering picture to outside observers.

Having kids has given me a lot of perspective - we do grow, but it's hard to see that in the moment.

Do you see any upside, other than the US rebuilding the policy situation?
The fall is precipitous.

iPhone 16 Pro. I have kids; photos are important, and I'm embedded in the ecosystem.

One perk I just realised - it's at TU Berlin, which is close to Berlin Zoo - an absolute must visit if you are in Berlin!

The last year has not been kind to my $ based income.

Pretty much yeah, but like anything in life it can be “trained”.
Melatonin has proven effective in shifting the rythm; but unless it’s disruptive to your life, who cares if it’s shifted?
(kids in school being a good example of needing the shift)

A nice coffee shop usually guarantees me 2hrs of hard admin work - only way I keep up with life some weeks.

Do you sell prints at all? I can’t find any on the store 😕

Being off means no work gets done lol.
But that’s pretty hard when you work for yourself.

Same with home automation. Mine’s half broken/in pieces most of the time.
It’s an ever evolving organism.

I’m on the same boat re. self hosting. Greedy streaming services and location restrictions on content broke me down, and I have two mini-PCs serving up Jellyfin and running a few services.

Tailscale is an absolute beast of a service. Can’t live without it!

I'm in the UK right now.
I really wish there was a better way to do this. I have an email address that's old enough to drink in the US.

It’s curious that this was a things across continents, despite pre-dating social media.
I’m not sure if it was MTV or magazines that bridged the gaps, or maybe Myspace.
