Also, the hero animations whenever you activated a perk got old super quick and imho don't really fit Aloys character

Could not finish it even though I thought Zero Dawn was probably one of the best sci-fi stories out there
On the way home, a string of cars were going the opposite direction (towards the deep space complex), must have been the night crew.
Night shift at a deep space tracking station - that would be a great setting for an indie horror game
Always great to get out to the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, one of three stations worldwide for the NASA Deep Space Network.
It was talking to Voyager 2 when I took the pictures
Might have the wrong Mark here
Every game that ships is a miracle.
I also never got my "VR legs". If anything, it's gotten worse over the years.
"VR" doesn't make you motion sick, bad developers not following best practices do. If you do it right, you can mitigate most forms of visual vestibular mismatch
Another OG bites the dust 😔
Your favourite game was not your favourite game until in the last 5% of development. Some games you don't like would've been your favourite game had they made different decisions in the last 5%
Everyone's favourite Eridian
Sometimes so loudly, it seems to want to compete with Nolan's Interstellar, drowning out all dialog
I agree and have invested into a good setup as well, however, nothing beats the local cinema which gets so loud, the seats are shaking. When you not just hear a movie, but feel it in your chest.
This works well for Project Hail Mary, which is pretty much scored all the time.
I recommend watching it in the cinema though. The cinematography is stunning and really benefits from the big screen and massive sound system
Still very enjoyable and probably going to be one of the best sci-fi movies this year.
The Project Hail Mary movie is to its book what The Martian movie was to its book. Entertaining, but better if you have read the book. There were a lot of things my friends who haven't read the book didn't catch.
This was a fun one!
Got a bit sentimental towards the end, but ya, I really meant what I said in regards as to why so many of us are still in #VR. We really love the medium and just want to build cool shit.
Thanks @ianhamilton.net for having me on!

A really lovely anecdote about @tovanbo.bsky.social from @markschramm.bsky.social in the middle of our discussion as I’m thinking about @devinreimer.bsky.social and Stellar Cafe.
You can make a developer’s day by leaving a review expressing how their worked affected you.
New family photos
Yep, they are industrial noctua fans. I printed some shrouds because they will cut your fingers off on full blast. Their speed can change via telemetry and makes F1 a lot more immersive (and literally cooler)
A survey from GDC asking to note the reader's company's annual revenue, with $100M being the STARTING point
I keep thinking about this insane survey question for GDC attendees.
Surely this can't represent the vast majority of people who attend? But it feels like it explains a lot of the other context and choices around the show.
Sorry
I miss Echo Arena. First time I punched a hole into a wall. Those oculus touch controllers were built differently
Mark Schramm’s VR Collection Is A Sight To Behold
I also have the experimental 6dof faceplate
Working on it, just need some time to set it all up. Bottom right in the picture are a few period appropriate PC's set aside for it (windows 7 with oculus dk1 runtime, etc)
Ahem
If music was reviewed like videogames are:
"This metal song has too much drums."
"I wish this song wasn't metal, I like Rap. It should be Rap."
"The song is good but they should hire a new singer"
"The thing is they're using Gibson guitars, they need to switch to Fender and it'll sound better"
