Pic of a beat up Tarzan comic. 10 cent cover price. Painting of a rather well-groomed man in loin cloth approaching an angry cheetah. Book is in real bad shape. 1955
Pic of the back cover bottom section "A pledge to parents" from Dell Comics. "The Dell Trademark is a positive guarantee that the comic magazine bearing it contains only clear and wholesome juvenile entertainment."
Also subscription rates $1.00 for 12 issues. Not bad.
This beat up Tarzan comic from Dell was in a box of junk we got at a yard sale. It's interesting because the Comics Code Authority doesn't appear on it, but there's a blurb on the back where Dell Comics promises it's a "wholesome" book. This came only a few months after the Authority started.
