En direction du game camp après avoir fini notre PFE 🌳

Little reward VFX 🌟
Kläppen updates 🌳
We made 2 consecutive playtest weeks on the project, we've had our first builds that look like coherent cabins !
Thanks to feedback from playtesters, we've been able to greatly improve intuitiveness and the player experience.
I will follow you there too !
Nice ! I think dot product could be good to illustrate too
We're working on getting the core gameplay done ASAP, and I'm working on the Level design to make it more interesting to navigate. I'm adding a lot of landmarks all around the map. This week, i've added decent lights and the landscape limits with mountains and dense forest.
Big Kläppen updates 🌳
This was probably the roughest time we had on the production yet. We had to make some drastic choices to ease our production and to put more effort on the core experience we want to deliver. (1/2)
Kläppen Updates (from playtests) 🌳
We playtested the game as we had it on Friday. The feedback was mainly focused on the size of the map, which was way too big for the amount of time we want our players to play. We divided the map by half its size to navigate easily in the forest.
I love LD.
it looks great !
The building system is quite done from now, and our dev is actually working on the win-condition (The game that detects whether the hut is valid for each NPC placed in it.)
for the next two weeks, we'll be focusing on having the map done so we can work on UI and various feedbacks (vfx, sfx...)
Kläppen updates 🌳
The past week, we've been focusing on having a testable build of the game. We added a lot of things that boosted our motivation !
I've been working on the reliefs of our map, and we instantly added our procedural tree generation (with placeholder meshes.) and the toon shader ✨
Good concept to make vfx basics more accessible, interfaces and documentation are usually repulsive
some 2D fx ? 👀
glad the rocks don't overreact
We can now destroy trees and rocks to get ressources, that's a great step for the building system
I love placeholder sounds
Here is a little breakdown of the stylised water i've made for our game.
I don't know if i should explain more how it's done, like the material part. Let me know 🌊
We're currently working on a cosy construction game where you can house animals in huts in the middle of a warm forest 🌳.
I'll be posting about its progress through the next 3 month ! ✨
Hey !
I've just finished this water shader that reacts with mesh collision to give this shore foam.
Made with #UE5 as always :)
I use radial gradient node... 🤓
Great !
Make it easy for you, if you feel like the tutorial is more digest by splitting, go for it ! :)
Tutorials for this would be great !
Can't wait for it ! :D
🔺🔻 'Sharing this little shader tutorial.
3 triangle textures moving around with a quick set up in materials :) 🔻🔺
#UnrealEngine #UnrealEngine5 #rtvfx #UE5 #gamedev #katevfx
Cool tutorial ! thanks :)
Made this quick little fx with #UE5, some kind of futuristic muzzle flash
how did you do the material for it to evolve considering the objects position?
Let's goooo global game jam
Such a cool theme
