The reception for this week's episode will be positive because Detective Conan's fanbase is more chill than modern seasonal hits' & the series has always allowed crazy original eps, but I saw a comment mentioning how risky these feel in current adaptations and I tend to agree. Which is a shame!

i will say though in those 24 old episodes it felt like in most of them there would be cuts scattered about where characters or vehicles are moving around in perspective that are just very competently drawn, which stood out to me in comparison to a lot of modern anime? idk
i watched from 100 to 124 before starting the simulcasted episodes on CR (I've given up hope on them ever adding more 😔) and most of those episodes are better than that one so it's weird that it's the first thing I felt compelled to talk about lol
Mitsuko Kase After having graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin, she joined Sunrise, and started of as an animator. She is noted as the first female mecha director, and one of the few female directors in the '80s alongside Makoto Moriwaki and Hiroko Tokita.
Not familiar with Kase but she seems interesting, also her first conan board of many so good first impression i suppose :)

Doremi rewatch hit Dokkan #38, Igarashi & Yukihiko Nakao. A highlight in a multiyear arc with nothing on its league but other, similarly absurd efforts in this franchise. You could surgically remove those and make excellent dramatic films, but instead, they grow organically within a larger whole
