@joeovies.bsky.social per your and @ravanos.bsky.social discussion—state leg just passed a bill to renovate the Portland arena but contingent on Portland chipping in and a lease extension-and based on Lenovo negotiations we know how that part will likely go www.kgw.com/article/news...

I’m going to lean more into the idea that Pittsburgh is as bad as everyone thought they’d be—but all those OT games do make you think it’ll be close
I don’t think I’ve laughed harder than I did at this #Survivor50 challenge
Yeah everyone saying tomorrow made the most sense-but I absolutely see the logic in using him Saturday with the 7:30 tomorrow and 3 PM Saturday. Give him the weekend and then if needed next Monday where he gets another extra day
If you're wondering whether RBA is really going to get Bussi in a game sooner than later, I had this exchange with Adam Gold last night over at X, about a conversation he had with RBA before Game 2.
Tl;dr - RBA indicated Bussi would play in one of the OTT games this weekend. Time will tell.
Especially when they play the exact same style that…ya know…prioritizes that
The whole top line has basically been negated-arguably only Svech has been noticeable, basically speaks to how serious they are taking Seth, I’ll be curious to see how Ottawa having last change switches this up
I will say there may be more egos to smooth out over there. The proof will be in free agency when we see what they do to try and build off this year
Mikko-meter Take 2
Yeah it’s also a HUGE difference in what he walked into in Raleigh where they didn’t have a lot of this stuff and they were able to convince him to get what was needed-feels like a lot of it is message sending
seeing all these (deserved) pot shots at Dundon, but this paragraph from The Athletic also needs to be included for context. Is there a definite culture of extravagance there, for a team that has been mediocre at best for a long time?
Some notes on who is calling the Canes/Sens games for TNT this weekend. Good news: No Eddie O.
Botterill is great, happy about Armstrong and Faust as well.
*story comes out about Dundon doing Dundon things in the NBA
*People act shocked as if Canes fans weren’t saying “hey gang, here’s what’s going to happen
*His team wins anyway.
🤷🏼♂️
You see the way these games are breaking and you remind yourself how good it is to have won the first two home games.
Alright CanesSky, time to give away some #MinterMail! I have five sheets out of the script to give away here on Bluesky from the 3-2 2OT win over Ottawa last night. TO ENTER: Reply to this post with a gif of how you felt after Marty scored. I'll pick five favorites to win tomorrow! #SoundTheSiren
It’s as RBA has said, it’s “Business Tom.” And Business Tom just doesn’t give a damn, At least till it doesn’t work. And to his credit if it doesn’t, he moves on.
Now-that also means the rising prices-the team is popular so the price of the brick is going up. But it’s still cheaper than a lot of not all NHL teams. A constant chirp from Ottawa fans was “wow those prices are so cheap, they don’t care.”
The thing people get wrong about him is that he needs to see how it truly helps a) the fans who are going and b) the players that are playing. It’s not spending for spending’s sake. Just a different mindset
But yeah, we’ve had this for 8 years-and make no mistake, he’ll adjust prices in real time to get people in the building. Every year the team added lights/smoke inside Lenovo and created a unique playoff only campaign which takes marketing, time, and money. There’s a new opening sequence
I do love the idea of “they aren’t giving out free t-shirts!!”
If fans get there and theres a towel instead and you have the sight of 18k towels waiving isn’t that a) a better sight, b) more distracting to shooters, c) a better keepsake for the vast majority of fans that won’t fit in the shirt?
If you do any homework on Tom Dundon's time in the NHL you'd realize this is who Dundon is.
Right or wrong, this is what the NBA signed up for with the sale, Portland just has to pray it finds it's own Rod Brind’Amour

The call of last nights 2OT game winner! #SoundTheSiren
This take was hotter a few weeks ago—think so far the early results are showing this is more lukewarm. Like on the buffet tray after an hour or so
Last night they would have obviously taken the Power Play not because it was Martinook but because it’s a lot easier to gather yourself and get back into playing with that.
@downgoesbrown.bsky.social said 1 in his newsletter, and it’s absolutely right. You gotta keep it from being open season out there.
Maybe the tweak I would make to 2 is you can choose anyone to take a shot, but yeah I think universally you should have an option for a shot or power play…
Also also-lost in all this, don’t forget Brady Tkachuk has twice tried starting a game to “set a tone” this series and it’s bit him in the ass twice. The fight in 1 that locked the Canes in early and the elbow to Aho’s head in 2 that led to the PPG.
Think Staal said it best last night-if he didn’t have control of the puck, how was he able to thread that pass over to Martinook? Such a subjective decision that feels like something you can’t make in that spot.
Said it in the moment it was one of the dumbest things he could have done.
If you fell asleep for all the scrums and pressers, Ryan has you covered
