I think I have my mojo back. Its taken a year, but I have started to enjoy camera repair again. I'm making progress on the years of stored up equipment and refurbishing it. I have even bought some things from Ebay to compliment what I have.

Probably oil on the blades. I think I have done one in the past.
The cheap shutter speed test devices, really do struggle with reading above 125th accurately. I would suggest seeing if there is a friendly repair shop near you that can test the shutter.
