I solved this by connecting these to a hub that attaches to the laptop directly, which I already owned.

I haven’t check if the newly released MA2730S (glossy) handles this issue better. I considered it, but preferred the matte display since I have nano texture on my laptop.

I was not able to justify the Apple Studio Display price, plus it didn’t meet my needs of handling two computers at the same time and having a matte screen (without paying even more), and probably would suffer from the same issues with the hub.

My previous 4k, 7 year old LG was better, no thunderbolt, but managed to hide any connections nicely behind the monitor.

I just needed to connect my kanto speakers via usb dac and a webcam, and the only available ports are down facing. Which would make the aesthetic horrible, with cables hanging downwards.

Now the biggest con… the hub is a mess. This monitor is advertised as a single cable solution that doesn’t live up to its promise the moment you add any peripherals.

Also the look is also great, very discreet and simple, making it look more premium (without the original stand and mounted on the BenQ ergo arm looks even better)

The good is that the matte finish is not as noticeable as I have read in many reviews, it does not create a rainbow effect. And the brightness is more than fine.

As someone who uses a laptop a lot for work, I was very sad to see how much real state I lost when Apple introduced the notch.

I’m very happy to get a new compact safari to gain some of that real state back.

(still not a fan of that notch, I was hiding both toolbar and dock in the past)

This is probably counterintuitive, since the mistakes that Claude makes might be caused by missing context.

After v1 of the site is finished, I will try a deeper integration and higher autonomy for smaller changes.

I have been using claude to “assist” me in my personal website redesign and build. Copying, pasting, discussing the results as I progress to ensure it aligns with my philosophy for the site.

It required a lot of hand-holding, making me afraid to give Claude “the keys” and more autonomy.
