the future is bright for tyla. this is literally a perfect album and the fact that she was ROBBED of an aoty grammy nomination physically pains me. 16 songs without a single one faltering. its diverse, atmospheric, personal. she KNOWS the kind of artist she is and it shows

2) crazy by le sserafim

i literally don't know what to say bc its just too good. i need to own a club so i can experience clubbing to this. if this was a full album, this would be in first place without a doubt. the fact that its my most listened to 2024 album with only 5 songs is INSANE

3) dopamine by normani

yall kept begged and begged and BEGGED for normani to drop the album. yet when she did, yall didnt listen to it??? crazy behavior bc i wasn't even seated for the album drop like that but OH BOY DID SHE DELIVER. this was literally the only thing i listened to for like 2 weeks

if this doesnt win that damn aoty grammy, i might end up on national news. the way its experiemental while staying cohesive and immersive just makes it even more *chef's kiss* AND THE TRANSITIONS BETWEENS SONGS OMGGGG

5) eternal sunshine by ariana grande

while not my personal fav ari album (thats positions), i would say its objectively her best album. it was so clear that this was a breakthrough for her as an artist. and its insane to me that she just made this on a whim bc she was bored during the actors strike

6) sis (soft is strong) by katseye

this showcased sm versatility in only 5 songs. i can't even imagine how good their debut album is gonna be next year. and i'm so glad that debut finally hit 50mil streams bc she is TOO GOOD to be paid the dust yall keep giving her

7) i'll like you by illit

for as much as i loved their debut, this is what made me a full-on gllit. the way this i played this on repeat was insane. literally a perfect follow up to super real me that improved and defined their sound and image

8) short n' sweet by sabrina carpenter

this was HER year. she really honed in on her craft and made a perfect pop album. i love eics but it had its faults and shortcomings that are now nowhere to be found on short n sweet

9) whiplash by aespa

this CUNTY ass mini album. what a way to close out this monumental year for aespa. i'm just waiting for people to wake up and realize how good flowers is

10) easy by le sserafim

there isn't a single low point on this album. the title track ate. smart b-side of the year. swan song is their best slower song. good bones in my personal top 3 lessera songs. we got so much love is such a nice closer. i will never forgive the antis for ruining this era

i'm running out of words to describe things but oh how i love kiss of life and this mini album. (also i'm still so sad that their tour didn't come close to me. i need to witness igloo and sitcky live)

12) cowboy carter by beyonce

this might just be my favorite beyonce album. she went into that studio mad as hell with a mission and it went perfectly. she somehow embude a true cinematic experience into a single album

13) empathogen by willow

this is a masterpiece of genre-blending and just music in general. the deluxe tracks didnt really hit as well but i was GAGGED when listening to the standard for the first time

14) visionary vision <performante> by tripleS

we need to make people move past the 24 members thing with tripleS bc everyone is missing out on GOOD music. like they complain about 5th gen being "boring" while ignoring one its best groups

15) super real me by illit

this really was THE kpop debut of the year and for good reason. magnetic was easily the most popular kpop song this year internationally, even trending outside the kpop bubble. and their b-sides were just as good, some even better *cough cough* midnight fiction supremacy

16) brat by charli xcx

it was so fun seeing charli get a rare 2nd chance at mainstream stardom and with her most personal project yet is even better. and brat is easily going own as one of the most iconic music eras of the decade alongside sour and the eras tour

17) no hard feelings by leigh-anne

getting our first solo project from one of the little mix girlies felt surreal. and if it wasn't for nature being the biggest skip of the year for me, this would easily be in the top 10 bc everything else is pure excellence

18) megan by megan thee stallion

the one time time i'll think a self-titled album is actually the best option for an album title. bc this really is the megan-iest album i could imagine. it really shows every facet of her personality. independent megan really is magical to watch

19) flo: access all areas

the two years of waiting finally paid off bc this is such a great debut album for flo. you not only get very well excecuted 2000s r&b, you also get a bit of experimentation with songs like i'm just a girl

20) strategy by twice

THIS EATERY like they ate, megan ate, everything about it ate. i just think its a bit too new to go any higher on my list

how can you not say mother when talking about hwasa?? this was such a versatile mini album while still feeling immensely cohesive

this was such a good, fresh restart for kenzie's music career. and honestly it would probably be a bit higher if that one collab with a man wasn't on the album bc his part makes me skip the song every time

23) armageddon by aespa

idk how to describe my feelings on this album. like half of it i'm OBESESSED with and its on REPEAT. then the other half is just fine imo. like theres certainly no skips but i dont really care to listen to it in full
