This is a pretty important distinction. I want your opinion:
The Supreme Court doesn't appear to be racist, so much as the supreme court seems to be capitalist and protectionist while using originalism as a proxy to block progressiveness?
Democracy always has to be progressive or it breaks apart?

I don't mean disrespect and if you love it it's you and it's not wrong but boy oh boy, scones are dumb.
"Hey you know how we used to bake in the 1300s and now we've actually solved a lot of problems and made things so delicious? Why don't you eat that thing that's uninformed and tragic?"
$100 million dollars of undisclosed assets.
Stop all this horse shit.
An algorithm should find the most qualified candidate with the least conflict of interest.
I'm down with AI as Skynet running this versus this corruption.
Philosophy is an overlay that is imperfect, it just helps you sort stimulus and experience.
So this isn't perfect but it does work:
The more you understand about things, the less those things can control you.
LEARN, CONSTANTLY.
In my experience, this doesn't remotely resemble sleep apnea.
And let me tell you about pleasure, friends... I've helped people experience enough it this has to be a "they know what they were doing" joke?
“People are working on it. I’m optimistic someday it will reduce a lot of these things. Brand hopes that day comes soon. He sees cocaine, benzoylecgonine & other human-crafted chemicals as “invisible agents of global change.”
since we’re talking about ossoff as a candidate for president, reminder that in 2024, he voted with republicans to block biden from appointing a judge because the judge had allowed a trans woman—who was regularly assaulted by prison guards and incarcerated men—to transfer to women’s prison
Nothing says "America is Back Baby!" like "Allbirds became an AI hardware middleman because they wanted to pump their stock instead of going into bankruptcy, so they said they will find some computer chips somewhere, but can no longer sell shoes."
If you don’t believe we are in a bubble you are in denial
Capitalism is so at odds with representative democracy...
The people perfect to understand how to work within cabinet level positions are the same people that have exploited capitalism to get to the level of qualification that would allow them to serve.
That's impenetrable to normal, good humans.
For a friend moving there I made a list of Pacific Northwest films. Any I should add? #moviesky #film #cinema

The thing about that Washington painting behind him:
“Washington wanted to make sure that his troops were not affected by disease, and he believed that inoculation would help with that. So, just before this letter was written, Washington created a mandated system of inoculating his soldiers.”
@SecWar: The War Department is once again restoring freedom to our Joint Force. We are discarding the mandatory flu vaccine requirement, effective immediately. 21 Apr 26
Washington ordered smallpox inoculations for the Continental Army beginning in 1777.
Hegseth, therefore, is taking a mid-18th century, pre-Industrial Age approach to medicine and warfare.
I for one would enjoy it if journalists stopped pretending this dinner is anything besides a chance to source up their contacts list and flatter government officials. One of the ickiest rituals in Washington, imo, and that's not a Trump-era thing.
He later says: "I'm afraid Kevin will have to have an office next to me in the White House, because that building is not going to be done."
Journalists planning to honor Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner have a choice:
A. Party with the dictator, wear fancy clothes and network to boost their careers.
B. Stand up for democracy by staying home.
They’re going to choose A. It looks terrible now. It will look worse to history.
Elizabeth Warren nails Warsh right between the eyes: if you're tough and independent, did Donald Trump lose the election in 2020?
Warsh refused to answer, dances around the question. Won't matter to Republicans, but could raise questions in the markets about subservience.
Disqualifying
Sen. Jack Reed to Warsh as he dodges questions about divesting his assets: "Excuse me. I must commend you on the way you can circularly go around questions and not answer them. It's a skill. Unfortunately it's not a good skill for the chairman of the Fed."
Stinson Beach is about 25 minutes from our house...
But I've another famous and happy tree about five minutes from my house, called "Hippy Tree" with a swing. I accidentally divulged its existence online around 2010. My mistake.
I truly believe most of the world would be healed with a picnic over the sea with friends, under a tree.
Haiku:
Picnic by a tree
Over Endless Sea
With fun, friends, and me!
I heard you like creaky rope ASMR?
In honor of the below about a tree, here's my favorite tree in Marin, in Stinson Beach over Steep Ravine, sorta where Carpenter shot the opening of "The Fog".
I've got quite a few favorite trees. Wholesome stuff, @chrisdeleon.bsky.social =) Thanks
Arbor day is 24 April.

I love that the malignant, rapacious, tone-deaf "ME ME ME" of the California Dem governor candidates could mean California gets two Republican governor options.
Dems act progressive as if they care about their constituency, when it is simply selfish struggle for power to bolster ego. Nothing more.
Ben Collins is on with Maddow to talk about his takeover of Infowars!
MSNBC really let a true gem go. I love Ben Collins insight, humor and great reporting.
Seth Meyers is back and this summation of last three weeks is brilliant and hilarious and insane.

Today in history, 1939: Billie Holiday first records “Strange Fruit” for the independent label Commodore Records. The song, which protests the lynching of Black Americans, became her biggest-selling record and a definitive anthem of the Civil Rights Movement. /1
“Is this the Democrats’ Tea Party moment?” No, the Tea Party was an astroturf campaign bankrolled by the Koch brothers, you’re thinking of something else I guess
