An incredible review for Tinker from the Historical Fiction Company. I can't wait to share this with the world! ARCs are currently on NetGalley. Link and pre-orders available at the link in bio.

If I could go back and tell 22 year old me that I would only use my new history of religion degree to go viral talking about the Avignon Papacy on the internet while publishing a novel about the Whiskey Rebellion as our country plummets into a dark ages... 22 year old me would ask for a stiff drink.
That sounds fun! I have biographical, set 1813-1854. I'll send you a message!
Any historical fiction #RevPit #revpitwaiting writers want to link up for beta swaps when RevPit is through?
Not nervous but would love to work with any of the three editors I picked. I'm craving another round of edits!
It runs through 4/10. There's a week left, and they spread them out.
I love 10Queries advice. Learned tons from it over the years. I make a list of what resonates, like "best practices" to follow. Forget it exists for a while, then re-write a new query package with your new info as a foundation. Easier than a direct edit from advice that isn't specifically for you!
What great company!
Same! The camaraderie is the best part.
That tiny sliver of historical makes me sad. Whatever happened to this marvelous genre? π
I loved that about your manuscript. Those friendships felt genuine. I never had friendships like that either, and I liked watching them pull for each other.
It's great to meet you!
Any #RevPit historical fiction entries out there?
I am not fully present in anything I do. Preparing the garden. Shopping. I keep thinking some version of "unknown doom ahead, this is futile."
Oh, it isn't for a few days, but wishing you the bestest, happiest of birthdays!!
I just cannot understand why I am supposed to WANT to celebrate my birthday with people who keep voting to end my life.
What do you make of fears he's Fetterman 2.0?
When you justify killing someone because they're bad, you move the scale on what "bad" is. Because the worst one is now gone and the system to do it again is already built. And once you justify killing one "bad man," you become the arbiter of capital justice. The absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Yeah. My wintersown bags of seeds survived, too. Pretty impressive that a few zip lock bags survived under all that ice!
It's melting a little. I started some seeds today, so at least it's starting to resemble a world in which plants could survive.
I can't be the only one who needs a new way to describe this feeling of impending doom. "Impending doom" just doesn't fit anymore
It's VERY close to where an AI data center is being forced down residents' throats, too. They're getting hit from all sides.
Then convince him he's already won twice so he needs to leave.
"Do something useful with this stick I'm beating you with or I will be forced to beat this dead horse instead."
Okay, dude.
We all do, I think. I'm not sure there's any going back, but I'm afraid to say it too loudly because it feels like giving in. No, they must back down. They may not assault us, break into ou homes, and throw toxic chemicals at children.
Yes. This.
I think itβs really interesting that Congress doesn't want to do a darn thing about it.
I keep thinking that someone is bound to do it if/when.
Who wants to take on my case pro bono when I sue for taxation without representation?
