I don’t know… it kind of suits them. The bluesy guitar rocker and the sensitive vocalist In their Elvis jumpsuits.🤣

I have to check that out based on that cover art!
I agree with all of that.
Ha! I feel pretty well prepared after playing Richard’s silly reindeer games all these years. I’lol look back at my selections from each of those years and then slim that 25 down to just the debuts. Can’t be more than 10 or 15. Piece o’ cake!
Great list. I don’t see anything knocking Patti, Television, and Gang of Four off my list. I think about 6 of the ones you’ve selected will have to go head to head for a chance at the last to slots. Thanks for doing the hard part for me!
I can go to bed at 4am and get up to go to work at 6am and not even be phased. I’m probably taking years off my life.
And I love the Lennon Claypool pick on yours, too. Got to see them open for Beck whenever that album came out.
I don’t sleep much.
Pedestrian at best was one of my favorite songs of that year. I love Murderd Out by Kim, too.
I think it was nearly 5am when I put mine up.

They weren’t quite hair metal and they weren’t grunge, but they were the connection between the two. Hugely important album.
Not a lot of love for GnR In here.
Oh good!
I might have to give Dwight 5 just so he’ll get 7 points. That album is great.
I feel the same way.
have you tried any of the specific genre calendars, Steve?
I’m impressed! You must be very pleased. Now go get The Bends, scan it, and then you’ll be really done!
Our younger selves still might not have listened. I think I’d play Cargo Culte by Serge Gainsbourg to my younger self just to see how I’d react.
I got a calendar called The Art of vinyl covers. It’s got some you’ll recognize but others you might not. It spans ‘50s to current and has a bit of everything. Here’s an example.
I'm old school and have no issues with the proper way. Bill Callahan is under C, Smog is under S. When he did his album with Bonnie Prince Billy, I filed it with under C because he's listed first. I only have 500 records, so it isn't too complicated.
They come through DC pretty often. I’ll make it a point to get to them next time.
I have wanted to see them live but they’re always here in the winter and I hate going to shows in the cold.
I like Giant Sand’s version of Red Right hand, too. I have to check this one out.
They’re an instrumental Afro-Soul big band with a retro flare.
