Pixar could go up to Incredibles 17 if they wanted to (and probably will), and the characters would still be the same age.

So whatever this franchise holds in store, a time skip is not one of them.

Sorry.

The Parrs/Incredibles are like the Simpsons: they retain their iconic status as long as they stay the same age for decades.

Hell, the folks at Illumination made the exact same statement regarding the Despicable Me girls, which is why we’ll never see those characters age either

These powers exist solely based on these particular archetypes attached to these particular ages.

Having them age up would completely defeat the purpose.

That goes double for Jack Jack, whose main appeal comes from him being a baby who is clueless of his practically infinite power.

-Some teen girls are shy and also defensive, so Vi has invisibility and force field abilities.

-Ten year old boys are full of energy, so Dash has super speed.

-Babies are totally unpredictable, so with Jack Jack, anything goes.

When Brad Bird first conceived the concept and characters for the movie, he tailored the family's powers based on each member's archetypal role.

-Mothers are pulled in every direction, so Helen has elasticity.

-Fathers are expected to be holding the family together, so Bob has super strength.

With Incredibles 3 on the way I keep seeing people say “there needs to be a timeskip” and “it should be about the kids growing up”

But that story will never, ever told.
