The woods, desert, anywhere. Anything, but a divorce 🫠
I do not wish unstable / inconsistent employment or low wages on anyone. I’m coming from a place of gratitude right now but I think for many, having one or two missed paychecks will have you feeling it for years, even as you try to get caught up. Kindness to those struggling costs nothing.
Martin Necas, taking over Nathan MacKinnon's spot on the power play, blasts home a one-timer to make it 4-2.
We saw that one-timer a few times at the Olympics.

I miss my dad and I wish I could talk to him. He would get what I’m saying.
But because we’re stuck in this weird cycle of social politeness fumbling around 1) the grieving most likely becomes isolated and 2) the people who kept offering help don’t know where they went wrong.
Messy and lonely.
The reason these gut punches are annoying is because I wish there was a way to fully show someone who tells you “I’m here for you, one call away blah blah” what that looks like and what that entails.
The way death culture is in US American culture/society is very “don’t think too hard about it, just enjoy the ride!” This doesn’t sound terrible but it becomes noticeable no one is really dealing with it and it’s not common to know how to talk about it. Because of this I became the grief friend.
It’s also an annoying gut punch when so many people say they’re here for you and to call anytime you need to talk because it’s not true. I don’t say that flippantly. I’ve dealt with death and grief really early in life, and have experienced it continuously like clockwork. My dad helped me navigate.
My dad died a few days before Christmas and I haven’t been right since.
Life post-hockey can be tough, but Tyson Barrie is thriving.
And early next week, his Chilly Ones beer arrives in Colorado.
"It felt like the natural place to launch,” he told me.
On his beer, his why, and his friend Nate being a brand ambassador.

Australia Day on January 26 is Not a date to celebrate
Today is "Australia Day" also known as invasion day.
It's a day of mourning not celebration.
So many Aboriginal people were murdered and are still struggling to get basic rights here in Australia.
Our country has a horrible history and we need to fix the wrongs. So the future can be be better
