On the Ballot

With Congress useless and state governments gerrymandered, the ballot initiative — direct democracy — is often the best way to effect change.

This year, there are huge initiatives on housing, civil rights, wages, and much more.

I made a website to help you track them all: ontheballot.news

Big FlipStates.org update: I added links to all candidates and districts, updated races, and fixed some bugs. This is your one-stop shop for the most competitive and important state legislative races. flipseats.org

Not a fan of the government that throws people in concentration camps requesting Lists of Jews at colleges. Doesn't portend well.

A misleading “vote no on gerrymandering” mailer featuring Barack Obama, who endorsed the measure that this opposes.

A misleading “vote no on gerrymandering” mailer featuring Barack Obama, who endorsed the measure that this opposes.

Barack Obama endorsed the Virginia redistricting amendment, but one right-wing group is using his face and an old tweet in mailers to suggest he opposes it.

Flip Seats

Excited to launch FlipSeats.org, a resource dedicated to tracking the most winnable seats in key legislatures around the country.

Democrats could win four trifectas this year and break several GOP supermajorities. I'll be updating this as new candidates emerge and primaries play out.

Trump paying TSA agents without any deal to fund DHS may technically be illegal but it's actually a good outcome for Democrats. Now they have no reason at all to cave and fund DHS.

Reminds me of the Napster days, when you had to search for silly code names like "Less Than Jack" for the band Less Than Jake.

State leg races really fucking matter

We wouldn't be having 4/21 Virginia redistricting ballot measure if Ds didn't control the House and Senate - and when first passed last fall, House margin was 51-49. Senate 21-19
