Mochi loves Christmas. The Christmas tree acts like a brush for her long fur. You should see under the tree when we dismantle it.

"The Brain That Changes Itself" is a groundbreaking book by Norman Doidge that explores the remarkable neuroplasticity of the human brain. It highlights the brain's ability to rewire itself throughout life, challenging the traditional notion of fixed neural pathways.

Black and white photo of a smiling middle aged white woman on the left who is looking at the camera while kneeling on the ground to gently squish and press her face on a white cat with black spots in the middle of the photo. The cat is not frightened but clearly a little annoyed and trying to escape her grasp. Next to the cat on the right is another, nearly identical cat that looks perturbed by the commotion. They seem to be outdoors, perhaps on a porch.

This is one of my favorites in my collection - smooshing babbys back around 1910. The back identifies the woman as Fay and the cats are Smut and Spot (remember ‘smut’ can mean dirt or soot, not just obscene material).

I posted my cats… now something to try to woo the dog people, my cavoodle Chester. Maybe he’ll attract some more SLPs…

It’s a personal favourite, from the point of view of a mute girl transitioning from a special school into a main stream school and all the awkward situations that come with trying to be accepted when you’re different to everyone else around you. #booksky #wespeechies #bskyspeecies #slpeeps

I’m not above using #catpics to lure in potential connections. The grey one is Mochi and the ginger is Enzo Ferrari. I’m a speechie with a private practice in Brisbane.
